Writ of supersedeas omnino, and order by mainprise of Roger Poghden of Lancashire, Richard Levynton and Thomas Haseley, one (sic) of Oxfordshire, and John Bisshopestre of Norhamptonshire to set free Richard Wordelham warden of the friars minors of the city of Winchester and brother John Wynterbourne his fellow, if taken at suit of William Dubbere for trespass.

Request to take again letters patent under the common seal of their house concerning a maintenance for life which they granted to Adam atte Wode, Giles Frensshe and John Wilton and to the longest liver at command of the late king, to admit Thomas atte Wode the prince's yeoman and the said Giles to their house, and minister that maintenance to them and to the longest liver, making them letters patent under the said seal with mention of what they shall take, and writing again by the bearer what they will do; as John Wilton after granted to the said Thomas his purparty and his estate therein, and in consideration that the said Adam and John are dead, the king has granted the same to the said Thomas and Giles. Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 100l., made in chancery 26 November this year by John Snokshulle of Essex and Richard Russell of London, to have Thomas Tuwe before any auditor of the king to be by Thomas archbishop of Canterbury the chancellor appointed, in order to render account for the time he was steward of the household of the earl of Oxford, and to fulfil such order as shall by the auditor be made, as the nature of the account requires.

Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against lord Burnell, appointed with others to make inquisition in Bedfordshire and Bukinghamshire concerning all sums of money and other profits and commodities to the king pertaining which were received by sheriffs, escheators, alnagers, customers, controllers and other accountable officers there and by them fraudulently concealed and withheld to their own use and profit, wherewith they charged not themselves in their accounts, but order to proceed against others who did meddle therein; as that commission came never to lord Burnell's hands, as sufficient witness is borne in chancery.

Memorandum that 29 May 9 Henry IV in chancery on behalf of Edward earl of Devon was sued a writ de procedendo in a cause concerning the wardship and marriage of John Gorges, son and heir of Thomas Gorges tenant in chief; and after view and oyer of certain letters of the king, exemplified under the exchequer seal and extracted from the Red Book, folio 144, and other records, reliefs and evidences of the exchequer concerning the manor of Sturmynstre Marchal co. Dorset, now in the king's hand by death of Thomas Gorges and by reason of the said heir's nonage, which were that day produced in chancery, it seemed to the chancellor, the justices, serjeants at law and others of the council learned in the law that no such writ ought lawfully to be made.
