Nov. 21.
To the bailiffs of Colchestre. Order, upon petition of Richard Felawe prior of the hospital of St. Mary Magdalene in Colchestre of the king's foundation, and the brethren, sisters, lepers and sick of that hospital, to restore the prior, brethren and sisters to the hospital, delivering to them their letters patent and evidences, and making them restitution of their goods unlawfully taken by John Hunt chaplain; as their petition shews that by gift of King Richard I, confirmed by all former kings, they and their predecessors time out of mind did hold and occupy in almoin the hospital with all rights and appurtenances thereof, continuing in prayers and divine services, until now of late John Hunt has unlawfully thrust them out, taking to himself their letters patent and evidences, and occupying the hospital at his own will, contrary to the foundation thereof.
