John bishop of Ely to the king. Recognisance for 1,000l., to be levied etc. of his lands and chattels and church goods in Cambridgeshire. (fn. 1)
Conditions, that the bishop shall abide the award of Master Henry Ware keeper of the privy seal, Sir William Hankeforde chief justice of the King's Bench and Roger Horton one of the justices of that Bench touching all plaints, debates, trespasses, claims, demands and actions real and personal between the bishop and the prior and convent of the cathedral church of Ely before this date arising, provided the same be made before Christmas next.
Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 40l., made in chancery 28 October this year by William Eton esquire, Richard Denton 'gentilman,' William Blewet 'gentilman,' all of Lincolnshire, and William Weldoun of Norhamptonshire 'gentilman' for Geoffrey Paynell esquire, and of an undertaking by him under a pain of 100l., that he shall do or procure no hurt or harm to John Paynell knight or any of the people.

Indenture of defeasance of a recognisance for 100l., made in chancery 26 November last by Thomas Seman clerk to John Fordham prior of Tykforde, upon condition that the said Thomas shall abide and perform the award of William Milton clerk and John Barton the younger chosen on his behalf, or for lack of them of two or one other like persons chosen in their stead, and produced at the church of St. Paul London, and of John Bernard clerk and William Babyngton on behalf of the prior, or two or one other like persons in their stead, concerning the right, claim and possession of all tithes arising from Little Croweley, and tithes whatsoever arising from twelve virgates of land within the parish of Chuceley called 'Wakfee,' so that the same be made before Easter next, and if those arbitrators may not agree, the award of William Lodyngton the umpire chosen with assent of the parties, so that it be made before the said feast. Request and order upon his allegiance, as he loves the king and the estate of the realm and desires the honour and advantage of the church of England, to summon a convocation in the cathedral church of St. Peter York or elsewhere in the octaves of St. Hilary next, in order to treat and agree touching urgent business which affects the same, and other matters which shall be clearly laid before them. Indenture of defeasance of a bond in 200 marks payable by the said Robert at Easter next, made in the staple of Westminster, upon condition that on that feast he shall pay 10 marks in the cathedral church of St. Paul London, 10 marks at Michaelmas following, 10 marks at Easter following etc., and so from day to day and year to year, namely 20 marks a year, until the whole be paid. Kent knight before the king and council within 21 days after warning to her given at Coulynge or elsewhere within the realm.
Ewdo Wythe, son of Philip Wythe late burgess of Bishops Lenne, to John Lawney citizen and grocer of London and Margaret his wife, sister of the grantor, their heirs and assigns. Gift with warranty of the reversion after the death of Margaret his mother, who was wife of the said Philip, of a piece of ground with buildings thereupon, a quay and garden adjacent opposite the church of St. Margaret in Bishops Lenne, the houses situate before it, cellars, solars etc. now held for life by his said mother, to wit between the high street on the east, the public river on the west, a tenement of John Lakynghithe on the north and a tenement late of Robert atte Lathe on the south, William Hundredpounde being then mayor of the town and Robert de Burnham alderman.
