Jan. 24.
Westminster.
To the escheator in Surrey. Order to take of Plesewe who was wife of William Englysshe esquire an oath etc., and in presence of Richard Englysshe son and heir of the said William, or of his attorneys, to assign her dower. (fn. 1)
Feb. 7.
Westminster.
To the escheator in Gloucestershire and the march of Wales adjacent. Order to give Robert Poyntz and Katherine his wife livery of the manor of Hulle co. Gloucester; as the king has learned by inquisition, taken by the escheator, that Thomas Fitz Nicholl knight at his death held the said manor by gift of Edmund Forde and others made with licence of the late king to him and Agnes his wife, likewise deceased, and to the heirs male of his body, with remainder to the said Robert and Katherine daughter of the said Thomas for their lives, that he died without issue male, and that the manor is held in chief by service of the moiety of one knight's fee; and the king has taken the fealty of the said Robert. To the escheator in Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. Order to give Katherine late the wife of Thomas Aylesbury knight livery of the manor in Great Giddynge called 'Engaynes Maner,' and the issues thereof taken, but to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with the other manors etc. hereinafter mentioned, delivering to her any issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, taken before Henry He the late escheator, that at his death Thomas Aylesbury held the manor of Fenditton co. Cantebrigge and a tenement there called 'Knyghteslonde,' the said manor in Giddynge, and a manor of Offorde Daneys and Offorde Cluny co. Huntingdon called 'Pabenhames Maner' in right of the said Katherine by reason of her coverture and by no other title, that the said manor in Giddynge with the manor of Laxton and ten virgates of land in Pyghteslee parcel thereof are held of the king by serjeanty by the service of finding running hounds to destroy foxes and other vermin in Huntingdonshire and Norhamptonshire, and the other manors and tenement of others than the king; and for 20s. paid in the hanaper the king has respited until Whitsuntide next the homage of the said Katherine for the same and for other lands in other counties held by the said Thomas in her right. (fn. 2)
To the escheator in Bedfordshire. Like order, mutatis mutandis, to give the said Katherine livery of two thirds of the manor of Eton and one rood of land in Farndysshe with the advowson of Farndysshe church every other turn to that rood pertaining, the said two thirds being held in chief, as found by inquisition taken before John Barton the younger late escheator; as for a fine paid in the hanaper the king has respited her homage to a day yet to come. (fn. 2)
To the escheator in Norhamptonshire. Like order to give the said Katherine livery of the manor of Laxton called 'Engaynes Maner,' and ten virgates of land parcel of the manor of Pyghteslee called 'Engaynes maner,' held of the king with a manor in Great Giddynge co. Huntingdon by serjeanty, namely by the service of finding running hounds to destroy foxes and other vermin in those counties, and the issues thereof taken, but to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with the manor of Irchestre held of the king as of the duchy of Lancastre, and with the manor of Thenforde and the residue of the said manor of Pyghtesle held of others than the king, as found by inquisition taken before John Spryggy late escheator, delivering to her any issues etc.; as for a fine etc. (as the last). (fn. 3)
To the escheator in Essex. Like order to remove the king's hand etc. from the manor of White Nottele, a rent of one pair of gilt spurs in Upmynstre and the advowson of Upmynstre church, not held of the king, as found by inquisition taken before Nicholas Rykhull late escheator. (fn. 3)
To the escheator in Norhamptonshire. Like order concerning the manor and advowson of Blatherwyk, held by gift of Peter Hynewyk clerk and others to the said Thomas and Katherine and to the heirs between them begotten, and not held of the king, as found by inquisition taken before John Spryggy. (fn. 3)
To the escheator in Leycestershire. Like order concerning the manor of Dadelyngton, held in right of the said Katherine and not of the king, as found by inquisition taken before William Babthorp late escheator. (fn. 3)

Westminster.
To the escheator in the county of Suthampton. Order to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with lands, rents and services in Christchurch Twynham, delivering to William Anketyll the younger, son and heir of William Anketyll the elder, to John Baret the elder and William Walche chaplain any issues thereof taken; as it is found by inquisition, taken before John atte Berghe late escheator, that John Plecy at his death held no lands in that county in chief nor of any other in his demesne as of fee nor in service, but before his death, on Sunday 3 May 4 Henry V, by writing produced gave all his lands etc. aforesaid to the said William Anketyll, John Baret and William Walche, their heirs and assigns, and that the same are not held of the king. (fn. 3)

To the escheator in Norhamptonshire. Order to take of Joan who was wife of John Knyvet of Mendelesham esquire an oath etc., and in presence of John Knyvet knight son and heir of the said John, or of his attorneys, to assign her dower. (fn. 3)
To the escheator in Leycestershire. Like order to assign dower to the said Joan, of whom the king has ordered the escheator in Norhamptonshire to take an oath etc. (fn. 3)
Like writ to the escheator in Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire.
