Nov. 22.
Westminster.
To the mayor and sheriffs of London. Order, when by the butler required, to admit Richard Alfelde by assignment of the king to the office of coroner in the city of London in his stead, first taking of the said Richard an oath of good behaviour in that office so long as he shall stand therein; as Nicholas Merbury the king's serjeant, his chief butler, to whom pertains the office of coroner in the said city, may not have leisure to execute that office in person therein by reason of divers business of the king in divers parts of the realm wherein at command of the king he is engaged, and has appointed the said Richard his substitute to exercise the same therein. (fn. 1) By bill of the butler.
