Westminster.
Thomas Byflete of the county of Suthampton esquire to the king. Recognisance for 20l., to be levied etc. in the said county.
Condition that, if in a cause concerning the withdrawing of tithe upon coppice wood for a titheable wood of the said Thomas called 'Shrubbewode' John Blonham parson of Warneforde co. Southampton shall obtain judgment in favour of himself and his church, and sentence in the court christian before the official of the court of Canterbury or elsewhere before an ecclesiastical judge, the said Thomas shall obey such sentence so far as concerns the costs and interest of the said John, and shall save harmless John Goolde of Alresforde to whom he sold such wood.
Thomas Dollyng abbot of Derforde co. Sussex and the convent to John Lynge citizen and draper of London. Bond in 8l. payable on Michaelmas day 1425. Dated 18 June 1423, 1 Henry VI.

Quitclaim with warranty of the manor of Bekyswelle, of all lands, rents and services of freeholders and neifs, fisheries, commons etc., wards, marriages, suits of court and leet, liberties of fold, of bull and boar, of windmill etc. in the towns and fields of Bekyswelle, Fyncham, Stradezet, Crymplysham, Derham, Roxham, Helegeye, 'Fordhamhithe,' Ryston, Denevere, 'Dounhamhithe,' Wynbotisham and Stowbardolf co. Norffolk which John Bekyswelle and the others had by feoffment of Thomas Wesenham his brother, except the children of John Reyner of Denevere smith late neif of Robert his father and all that goes with them. Richard Vewetre to Thomas lord Dacre and lord of Gilleslande knight. Quitclaim of a moiety of the manors of 'Blakhalle,' Staynton and Bochardby co. Cumberland, whereof a fine levied at Westminster in the late king's court between Walter Askeham, Oliver Mendeham clerk. Thomas Daynelle, William Skirwyth and the said Richard plaintiffs and Margaret who was wife of Thomas Bowet the elder and William Bowet of Wrentham knight deforciants, and thereby the deforciants acknowledged the right of the said Oliver, and the plaintiffs granted that moiety to the said Margaret for life with reversion to themselves and the heirs of the said Oliver, the said Margaret having given her estate therein to the said lord Dacre. Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 20l., made in chancery 16 May this year by Thomas Grene of Solihull co. Warrewyk esquire William Flete of London 'fysshemonger,' Matthew White 'barker' and John Manley 'wolman,' both of Coventre co. Warrewyk, for Robert Praty of Coventre, and of an undertaking by him under a pain of 40l., that he shall henceforward be obedient to the mayor and bailiffs of Coventre, the guardians of the peace, and all other the ministers and officers of the king within that town for the time being, and shall aid them to the best of his power in all lawful matters to their offices pertaining, that he shall hold or maintain no heretical opinions or lollardries, and cherish or maintain no heretics or lollards in their opinions contrary to the faith and to the laws and constitutions of the church, and that he shall make no riots or unlawful assemblies within the town which may lead to disturbance of the peace.
Memorandum of a like mainprise, mutatis mutandis, under a pain of 40l., made 19 May by John Byrde of Marleburgh co. Wiltesir 'gentilman' and John Langley of Bristol 'marchant' for Mark William of Bristol, and of an undertaking by him under a pain of 100l., that he shall be obedient to the mayor, sheriff and bailiffs of Bristol etc.
Memorandum of a like mainprise, mutatis mutandis, under a pain of 40 marks, made 15 May by Thomas Bokelande of 'Hamptoncourt' co. Middlesex 'gentilman,' George Selatte of Twykenham 'yoman,' Robert Hervy of the parish of 'Stronde' without New Temple bar London 'baker' and Richard Wymounde of Houndeslowe 'yoman' for Roger Langley of Colbroke committed to the custody of the warden of the Flete prison for certain causes moving the king, that he shall be obedient to the guardians of the peace etc. (as above), and shall appear in person before the council upon ten days' warning to him or any of his mainpernors, to answer touching what shall be laid against him.
Memorandum of a like mainprise, mutatis mutandis, under a pain of 20l., made 10 June by William Kirkeby of Staundoun co. Hertford 'husbondman,' John Ynglysshe of Bengeowe 'husbondman,' Roger Lorynge of Stapulforde 'husbondman' and William Lorynge of Stapilforde 'husbondman' for Thomas Grene of Bengeowe committed etc. (as the last).

Thomas Macworth of Macworth, Henry Knyveton of Bradley, both co. Derby, and Thomas Elande of Wymondeswolde co. Leycestre esquire, to the king. Recognisance for 1,000l., to be levied etc. in the said counties.
Condition, that Thomas Macworth, whom the king has appointed his receiver in Staffordshire and Derbyshire of the lands and lordships of the duchy of Lancastre and of his heritage of Hereforde, shall upon one month's warning truly answer and account before the king's auditors term by term and year by year for the moneys etc. he shall receive of the issues of that office.
Thomas Queynton of Shirbourne and Agnes Perkyns, heirs of John Perkyns of Dadyngton 'drapere,' to Agnes who was wife of John Samwelle of Stoke Lyle and James Samwelle, and to the heirs and assigns of the said James. Quitclaim of a messuage and curtilage in the market street of Dadyngton between tenements sometime of John Yelbury and John Smyth, and of 2 acres of land in the fields of Dadyngton, one upon 'Langfurlong' in the east field between lands late of John Yerman and Henry Kynge, and one upon 'Alhulle' which is a headland by land formerly held by Oliver Belleyeter. Dated Dadyngton, Monday before Midsummer 3 Henry VI.

Order upon sight etc. to cause proclamation to be made, that all knights, esquires, yeomen and others retained to sail over sea on the king's service who have received his wages for that cause shall under pain of imprisonment and loss of their goods and chattels hasten to their muster at 'Berhamdoune' co. Kent before them whom the king has appointed for the purpose.
