Westminster.
James lord of Berkeley to Richard de Bello Campo earl of Warrewyk. Recognisance for 10,000 marks, to be levied etc. in Gloucestershire.
Condition, that he shall abide and obey the decree and judgment of Philip bishop of Worcester, John Tiptoft knight, William Babyngton and William Cheyne or three of them, and of John June in the room of one absent, touching all articles in need of declaration contained in two indentures made between the parties, with proviso that the arbitrators shall not meddle in taking any security of any manors, lands etc. therein specified, nor of the manors of Wotton, Portebury, Cerney and Cernecote; also in regard to all actions, plaints, rights, titles, debates and demands made by the parties by reason of their servants or for any other cause or matter between them, except certain disputes between their men and servants at Hamersmyth co. Middlesex, and an assault and battery there, which are submitted to the duke of Gloucestre. Proviso that such decree etc. shall be made before Christmas day next; or if the said James shall die before Allhallows next this bond shall be void.
Memorandum that this recognisance and these conditions were taken by John earl marshal and earl of Notyngham by a writ.
Vacated, because otherwise in the second year.
Roger Horewich girdler, son and heir of William Horewych citizen and tailor of London deceased, to Henry Somer and William Fleet citizen and merchant of London, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of a messuage with garden adjacent in Camerwelle co. Surrey sometime of John Waryn, and of another messuage with 10 acres of arable land more or less in the parishes of Camerwelle and Lambhethe, which messuages, garden and land the said Henry and William Fleet, with John Sondeforde of Surrey and Adam Danecastre clerk both now deceased, had by demise and feoffment of William Horewyche, as appears by a charter indented. Witnesses: Richard Osbarne, William Pountfreit skinner, Adam Feryby tailor citizens of London. Dated 15 November 1 Henry VI.

Memorandum of an undertaking, under a pain of 1,000 marks, made in chancery 20 January this year by John Dasse, Ertmarus Swarte and John Rynge merchants of Cologne, that within a set time after the receipt of 1,000 marks of the king's money, which they are to receive from the treasurer for payment by way of exchange to the duke of Bavaria in foriegn parts, they shall cause the same to be laid out upon purchase of merchandise within the realm according to the ordinance.
Richard Harewelle clerk, William Hoddesfelde, Alexander Lynde and William Paston of Paston to Thomas Poye clerk, his heirs and assigns. Quitclaim of the manor of Lexton (sic) co. Somerset which, among other things, they, the said Thomas Poye and Richard Reede had by gift and quitclaim of Joan who was wife of John Strecche esquire, according to a fine levied in the late king's court in Trinity term 10 Henry V, Richard Reede having made a release of his right therein to them and Thomas Poye and to the heirs of the said Thomas by a writing enrolled in chancery in the term aforesaid. Dated 25 October 1 Henry VI.
Memorandum of acknowledgment by William Paston in chancery at Westminster 1 February; and by Richard Harewelle 5 January, the said Alexander 14 January, and William Hoddesfelde 20 January, all at Welles before John Rolande clerk, by virtue of a dedimus potestatem which is on the chancery file for this year.
Thomas Poye clerk to John Juyn, Robert Hille of Spaxton, John Stourton the elder, Thomas Shelforde clerk, John Knyght, John Stortwayth, John Reynolde and John Codforde clerks, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of the manor of Loxton co. Somerset. Dated 1 March 1 Henry VI.

Richard Reede to Richard Harewelle clerk, William Hoddesfelde, Alexander Lynde, William Paston of Paston and Thomas Poye clerk, and to their heirs. Quitclaim of the manors of Brandeston, Charesfelde and Westerfelde co. Suffolk, the manors of Oxeburgh, Shipdene and Ryston and 100 acres of land, 40 acres of pasture and 20s. of rent in Salthous, Berton Byndyche and Henstede co. Norffolk, and the manors of Radewelle, Compton Dureville, Hossokmore and Loxton co. Somerset, all which he and they had by gift and quitclaim of Joan who was wife of John Strecche esquire by fine levied in the king's court this Trinity term. Dated 5 July 10 Henry V.

Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 40l., made in chancery 6 February this year by John Botiller 'parker' and Robert Saxton 'barbour,' both of Coventre co. Warrewyk, for William Palmer of Coventre 'passenger,' by the said William and Robert for the said John, by the said John and William for the said Robert, by Richard Ilage 'taillour' and John Braunston 'wyredrawer,' both of Coventre for John Fylongley of Coventre 'plommer,' by John Fylongley and John Braunston for the said Richard, by the said Richard and John Fylongley for John Braunston, by John Merston 'girdeler' and Matthew White 'barker,' both of Coventre, for John Meuley of Coventre 'wolleman,' by the said John Meuley and Matthew for John Merston, by John Meuley and John Merston for the said Matthew, by John Halle of Coventre 'bocher' for John Syrok (sic) of Coventre 'girdeler,' and by John Syrok for John Halle, that they shall do or procure no hurt or harm to any of the people, and that upon warning received by one of them or by their mainpernors they shall within fifteen days appear before the council to answer touching what shall be laid before them.
