Feb. 16.
Westminster.
Ralph Botreaux knight to William lord Botreaux knight. Recognisance for 1,000l., to be levied etc. in Cornwall.
Condition, that he shall discharge all lands which he holds or did ever hold in fee tail, and all of which he is seised or others are seised to his use in fee simple, lands in Cornwall called 'Denneslande' excepted, of any rents and charges whatsoever by him or others made to this date, and any recognisance of statute merchant or statute staple, and that he or others shall hereafter make none whereby the same may be charged with that exception, that he shall hereafter alien none of them, and shall before Michaelmas next take again his first estate in any heretofore aliened, so that they may remain or revert to those to whom they ought to have done had there been no alienation, that before Michaelmas he shall take again an estate of lands held in fee simple by him and by others to his use, with the exception aforesaid, to him and the heirs of his body with remainder to the said William and his heirs, and that he shall not implead the said William nor any tenant, man or servant of his for aught done to the said Ralph, his tenants, men or servants by reason of the said Ralph or of his behaviour, or any contract made, neither shall the men, tenants and servants of the said Ralph or any of them by his assent, procurement or abettal.
Henry Barton and Thomas Knolles the younger to Nicholas Tunwelle and Emma his wife, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim of four messuages, 260 acres of land, 34 acres of meadow, 30 acres of pasture, 10 acres of wood and 16s. of rent in 'Westbylney,' Wymbotesham, Stowebardolf, Walyngton, Thorplonde, Shuldham, Thorp, Crymplesham, Bekeswelle, Ryston, 'Dounhamhithe' and Hecham by the sea, which the said Nicholas and Emma hold for life with reversion to the said Henry and Thomas and to the heirs of the said Thomas. John Sprount of Orkesley co. Essex, brother and heir of John Sprount burgess of Oxford, to Humphrey earl of Stafford and Thomas Bourghchier clerk, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of a tenement and a garden adjacent, with vessels of wood, lead and brass to a brewhouse pertaining, situate in the parish of St. Peter in the Bailey Oxford between tenements of John Neelle on the west and William Wynter on the east and abutting on 'Sewyslane' on the north, a tenement called 'Garlondesplace' in the parish of St. Mary Oxford, a tenement called 'Crassewelplace' in the parish of St. Michael Oxford at the south gate with vessels (as above), a tenement in 'Fyssherstrete' in the parish of St. Aldate Oxford, and a tenement called 'Lollysplace' in the parish of St. Michael without the south gate; and proviso that this warranty shall extend only to bar John Sprount and his heirs. Witnesses: William Erberfelde mayor of Oxford, John Isbury, John Skynner bailiffs, William Brampton, Thomas Coventre burgesses, Thomas Arblaster, William Perkyns esquires. To the abbot and convent of Kyrkstall co. York. Order to take again letters patent by them made to Roger Nedewode concerning a corrody or maintenance within the abbey which he has at the request of King Henry IV, to admit him and John Threpelande the king's servant, clerk of the bakehouse within the household, to their house, and minister to them for their lives and the life of the longer liver a corrody such as the said Roger or any other heretofore had, making and delivering to them other letters under the common seal of the house with mention of what they shall take, and writing again by the bearer what they will do; as the said Roger is minded to demise his estate therein to the end that he and the said John may have it, and by advice and assent of the council the king has granted the same to them and to the longest liver.
