Westminster.
John Alysaundre of New Sarum co. Wiltesir to Richard Hayne of New Sarum 'gentilman.' Recognisance for 20l., to be levied etc. in Wiltesir.
Condition, that before the Nativity of the Virgin next he shall find security to pay the said Richard 20 marks, namely 10 marks on Michaelmas day next, 5 marks on Christmas day, and 5 marks on Easter day following.

Martin Bosoun of Devon esquire to the king. Recognisance for 1,000l., to be levied etc. in Devon.
Condition, that he shall appear in person before the king and council in the quinzaine of Michaelmas next to answer touching what shall then and there be ordered, and for his good behaviour meantime toward the king and people.

Quitclaim of the manor of Grymston, reciting a fine of the said manor among other things, levied in the late king's court in 1 Henry V between William Loueney esquire and Margaret his wife [plaintiffs] and Thomas Schepeye, Thomas Maydeston, John Parlemaun, the said Thomas Warner and John Bacheler of Hesten' [deforciants], whereby the plaintiffs acknowledged the right of John Bacheler etc. Witnesses: John Skot, John Sax, William Onhand, John Bryon', William Barber. Memorandum of acknowledgment at Tatyngston co. Suffolk 4 April this year before Thomas Fulthorp, by virtue of a dedimus potestatem which is on the chancery file for this year.
Walter Westeby of Grymmesby co. Lincoln, merchant of the staple of Calais, to William Fillyngham broker of the said staple and Reynold Langham burgess and alderman of Calais, their heirs and assigns. Charter with warranty of the whole tenement in Calais with cellar below, situate in the parish of St. Nicholas between the high street called 'Watergatestrete' on the east, land of the earl of Warrewic on the west, land of lord Percy on the north and a tenement of Richard Nordoun sometime of John Mulso on the south, which the grantor with William Fratyng now deceased, sometime a hired soldier of the town of Calais, had by feoffment of William Lovel sometime a hired soldier thereof; and because his seal is to many unknown at his request the seals of John Gedney and Stephen Broun aldermen of London are hereto attached. Dated 27 April 22 Henry VI.

John duke of Norffolk, earl marshal, earl of Notyngham, marshal of England, lord Moubray, Segrave and Gower to Robert Wyngefelde knight, whom for long service to himself and John late duke his father by letters patent, dated London 26 October 15 Henry VI, he appointed for life chief steward of all his castles, lordships, manors, lands etc. in Suffolk among other things. Confirmation of the said office for life, to be occupied by himself or by deputy, commanding all officers, ministers, tenants and men of the duke, and all others whom it concerns to attend and obey him. Dated London, 1 May 22 Henry VI.

John Kyghley of Salmanby to John Tailboys esquire for life without impeachment of waste, with remainder to John Aiscogh and Margaret his wife, daughter of John Tailboys son of the said esquire, and to the heirs of their bodies, remainder to the heirs of the body of the said Margaret, remainder to Walter Tailboys son of the said esquire and to the heirs of his body, remainder to the right heirs of the said esquire. Charter of demise of all lands, rents and services in Malbys Enderby which the grantor, with others now deceased, had by feoffment of John Routhe knight, John de Holme, John Fereby and John Bryan, all lands, rents and services in Swalowe which he had by feoffment of John Tailboys esquire, and a close in Stalyngburgh co. Lincoln called 'Vicarcroft' which he had by feoffment of Richard Lamberde chaplain. Witnesses: Walter Tailboys of Ratheby, Robert Geddesey of Bagenderby, William Thorppe of Somerby, Richard atte Esshe, Robert Cokerell, both of Saucethorppe. Edward Langforde esquire to John Davy. Bond in 200l. payable on Midsummer day next. Dated 19 May 22 Henry VI.
Condition, that John Davy or Master Walter Honyngton clerk and John Fyssher, the heirs and assigns of John Davy shall not be lawfully thrust out of a tenement upon 'Houndesdyche' in the parish of St. Sepulchre without Newgate in the suburb of London called the 'Unicorne' upon the 'hoop,' with the shops and cottages etc. thereto annexed, which they had by feoffment of the said Edward, by any person having a title earlier than this date, that the same shall not be delivered in execution by reason of any bond, statute merchant or of the staple or recognisance in any court of the king, and that the said Edward shall save them harmless of all annuities and yearly rents issuing out of the premises save rents and services due to the chief lords, and of every distress for the same.

Gift with warranty during the life of the said Robert and Elizabeth and of the longest liver without impeachment of waste, in consideration of the praiseworthy service of the said Robert to the duke's father and to the duke, of the whole manor and lordship of Weston by Baldoke co. Hertford with the rights, profits etc., and the reversion after the death of Ralph de Legh of the office of steward of the said manor and lordship, of a yearly rent of 10 marks thereof held for life by the said Ralph, the offices of parker and warrener, a rent of 9l. 2s. a year lately granted to the said Ralph for life, and of all other offices and rents thereof issuing and heretofore granted to any man. 'This indenture made betwix Rauffe Pole seriaunt of the lawe on the ton partie and John the son of William Wandell of Egynton on the thodur partie wittenesseth that accorde is taken betwix the seid parties in the maner and fourme that folowth, that is to sey, that were as the seid Rauff and his auncestres have bene seised of the seid John and his auncestres as bond men longinge and pertenyng to the maner of Egynton in the shire of Derby of tyme that no mynde is, the seid Rauff shall by his dede under his sealle make a sufficiant manumission to the seid John by the whiche he shall make the seid John free, and discharge hym and his issue of alle maner of servage and bondage, also the seid John shall take a writte by the avisse of is councell a gaynes the seid Rauff to be retourned in the kynges court atte a certayn day, atte the which day the seid Rauff shall appere and plede thatte the seid John is bondman in the fourme forseid and by thatte cause owe notte to be answerd, to the which ple the seid John shall replie and sey that he is fre and of fre astate and notte bonde and opon that poynt take an issue, the which issue the seid Rauff shall suffer to be triede for the partie of the seid John, and after the iugement be gyvon opon the seid writte the seid John woll and graunteth he shall relesse to the seid Rauff the execucion of the seid iugement and non execucion ther upon sue, and of all maner expenses and costes touching the seid plee and sute the seid Rauff shall discharge and kepe harmelesse, for the which manumyssion and fredome so to be made to the seid John the same John shall pay to the seid Rauff iij. li. of lawfull money, and this endenture shall be enrolled in the chauncerie of recorde opon the costes of the seid John. In wittenessynge wherof the parties forseid to thies indentures enterchaungeably have putte theire seals.
