To John Sandforde esquire. Order under a pain of 500l. to bring into chancery in the octaves of St. Martin next all releases and the charter and will hereinafter mentioned; as there was a dispute in chancery between Robert Louther and the said John and Ralph Holand citizen of London, Richard Sandes esquire, Robert Breton 'gentilman' and Simon Spencer parson of the church of Dovorre castle touching matters in a petition presented by Robert Louther, for that Geoffrey Louther esquire his uncle deceased of his confidence in the said John and the others did make a feoffment to them of the manors of Motte, Welle and Garyngton (Garwynton) co. Kent to his own use and for performance of his will, namely it is said that after his death the feoffees by good advice should make a sure estate therein to the said John and the heirs male of his body, with remainder to the petitioner and to the heirs of his body, as contained in indentures tripartite thereupon made; and after view of the said petition and of the answers and allegations required in that behalf, the matter being understood, it was determined that the said John should make a feoffment of the said manors and of all lands etc. specified in the said will except the manor of Motte to the said Robert Breton, Richard and Simon and to their heirs, that they should give the same with the exception aforesaid to John Sandeforde and the heirs male of his body with remainder to Robert Louther and the heirs of his body, and that all releases by the said Robert Breton, Richard and Simon or any of them, or by other the feoffees of the said Geoffrey to John Sandeforde should by him be given up in chancery to be cancelled, bringing with him a charter of feoffment of the manor of Motte and the will aforesaid.
