John Husy of Sleford co. Lincoln esquire and John Ansty of Stowquy co. Cantebrigge 'gentilman' to John Gargrave esquire. Recognisance for 40 marks payable on Michaelmas day next, to be levied etc. in the counties aforesaid.

John Fulbourne to Henry Filongley and John Ingowe. Recognisance for 100 marks, to be levied etc. in Cambridgeshire.
Condition, that he and Agnes his wife, their feoffees and all who by them have an interest in the manor of Donmowes shall when required by fine or fines with warranty make a good estate thereof in law to James Ormond knight or other his nominees and to their heirs at his cost, and that if John Fulbourne shall be impleaded concerning the same or any parcel thereof, he shall plead such pleas as shall by counsel of the said James or his heirs be ministered to him at their cost, and in possession of the said manor he shall rule himself as by them advised.
Henry Filongley and John Ingow to John Fulbourne. (Like) recognisance, to be levied etc. in Cambridgeshire and Essex.
Condition, that they shall pay him or his assigns at Fulbourne co. Cantebrigge a yearly rent of 6 marks during his life at Easter and Michaelmas or within two months after.

Declaration of Robert Wylne and Thomas Chaterley yeoman (sic) of the crown and the king's servants, that on Wednesday after St. Martin last in St. Mary's church Notyngham, they spoke with John Dunstable executor of sir John Ryder late canon of Southwell, and declared that sir John gave to his niece Johane the wife of John Paunton 100l. which Henry late cardinal of England and late bishop of Wynchestre owed to him, also that John and Johane received the said 100l. of the executors of the cardinal, and to this the said executor said he would 'agree him' in all points, provided that the parson of Saint Bride's in 'Fletestrete' London would swear that he knew that sir John made the gift as abovesaid; and after this on the Monday in Sexagesima last in Saint Bride's church the parson swore by his priesthood before Robert and Thomas that he knew and was present when sir John gave the said 100l. to his niece. Edmund Ecclys to William Bere citizen of London. Letter of attorney, reciting that master John Langton in his life time, for 200l. to him due from the king, had livery at the exchequer of a tally levied at the receipt thereof marked 200l., whereon was written: From the farmers or occupiers of all lands etc. of Henry lord Grey of Codenore deceased of the issues thereof in England at Easter, 20 July 22 Henry VI, for master John Langton for money lent; and reciting that he was advanced to the bishopric of St. Davids, and died intestate, by reason whereof administration of his goods pertained to John archbishop of Canterbury and papal legate; that he, willing the same to be applied to payment of the bishop's debts and other pious uses for the health of his soul, by letters under his seal, dated his manor of Lamehith 22 November 1447 and 5 of the archbishop's translation, did commit the same to Ecclys; that Langton at his death owed Bere 108l. 13s. 5d., namely 100l. for that he was party to two bonds to Henry Somer esquire for a debt of Langton, and was by legal process compelled to pay the same, and the residue he paid little by little on Langton's behalf, as appears by account rendered; and that the bishop in his life time delivered to him the said tally as security, to the intent that he might thereof obtain payment, or keep it until contented; and appointing Bere, whom he specially desires to be paid, to crave and receive of persons concerned whatsoever the 200l. aforesaid, 108l. 13s. 5d. to his own use, without accounting or answering for the same, and any residue over and above the costs of such recovery to be paid to the said Edmund or his assigns when required.
