Westmnster.
Richard Assheby 'yoman,' Alan Thomlynson 'yoman' and John Shirreff 'mercer,' all of Grymesby co. Lincoln, to Henry abbot of St. Augustine by Grymesby. Recognisance for 100l., to be levied etc. in Lincolnshire.
Condition, that Thomas Moigne and Herry Hawley, arbitrators indifferently chosen by the abbot and convent of 'Seynt Austyn biside Grymesby' and by the mayor and commonalty of Grymesby of all actions, quarrels, debates and demands between the parties, or John Portyngton 'noumpier' indifferently chosen, make an award between this and the quinzaine of Easter next, and in case they make none Richard, Aleyn and John shall appear in chancery in the 'tresemaynes' of Easter next. Condition English.
William Verney esquire, son and heir of Robert Verney of Mochell Wolford co. Warwyk, to Richard Dalby of Brokhampton gentleman. Indenture witnessing that William has sold to Richard the manor of Upton beside Tyseho co. Warwyk and all other lands, rents, reversions and services which he has or others to his use have in Upton and Rotley, in which 'he graunteth' 'to make or do make' to Richerd or his heirs, or to others by them named, lawful estate in fee simple after the advice of their counsel before the vigil of Saints Simon and Jude next, that the said Richard and his assigns shall take to his use all profits thereof from Michaelmas last, for which estate etc. Richard 'graunteth' 'to paie or do paie' to William or his assigns 77l. 6s. 8d., to wit 1 May next 20l., 1 August next 10 marks, All Hallows next 24l., and if William recover or purchase the manor of Gydyhall, co. Essex before 1 May 1453, that day Richard shall pay to him or his assigns the 40 marks residue, and if not shall pay them at All Hallows 1453; moreover that although William and Richard are severally bound to one another in 100l., each 'graunteth' that if he perform all the above covenants, the obligation be void. William Verney esquire, son and heir of Robert Verney of Great Wolford, to Richard Dalby of Brokhampton 'gentilman,' Hugh Dalby, William Jones of Barton and Thomas Smyth of Halford, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of the manor of Upton by Tyseho and all the lands, rents, reversions and services sometime of his said father in Upton and Rotley. Dated 14 February 30 Henry VI.
Memorandum of acknowledgment by William Verney of the foregoing indenture and writing, 15 February.
Henry Erysy citizen and 'corsour' of London to Thomas Coke 'gentilman,' William Hoke barber and John Halywell 'tapicer' citizens of London, their executors and assigns. Gift of all his goods, property and chattels in London and elsewhere within the realm, and all debts to him due; and he has put them in possession thereof by delivery of 2d. Dated 4 March 30 Henry VI.
