Letters patent of James IV of Scotland confirming with the consent of the three estates of the realm in the parliament held at Edinburgh on 13 March [1503/4] his patent of 24 May, 1503, bestowing certain lands etc. on princess Margaret eldest daughter of the king of England as a marriage gift in contemplation of matrimony (fn. 1) and his additional gift of the lordship of Kylmarnok with appurtenances; proviso quod dicte donaciones non habeant locum in aliis nisi durante vita dicte nostre conjugis et quod non licebit nobis aut successoribus nostris aliis conferre, set quod post mortem ejus et quo ad donacionem ad alios revertantur ad prestinum statum annexacionis et unionis prius facte. Condition (English): that the lordship and manor of Maunchestre co. Lancaster, which were taken into the king's hand by reason of an 'office' taken at Lancaster before William Smyth escheator in the county on 20 April, 17 Henry VII, and leased to the said lord for a year from Easter, 19 Henry VII, by patent under the duchy seal after the form of a statute of 8 Henry VI [c. 16], be adjudged to the king without waste or destruction.

The enrolment on the Close Roll contains some variant spellings including the form Selbrik for Selkerk and Cokbrandspeth for Colbrandspeth (printed Cowbrandspeth by Rymer). It also contains a slightly different list of witnesses: after Sancti Andree archiepiscopo it reads not commendatario de Dunfermling but duce Rossie et cancellario nostro; after domino Gordoun et Badezenath it adds Matheo comite de Levenax domino Dernly; after Patricio domino Lyndesay it adds de Byris.
