Dec. 4.
Westminster.
Order to the sheriff of Hereford for election of a coroner instead of John Hakeluyt; as by credible witness the king has learned that he is insufficiently qualified, and has removed him.
Dec. 22.
Westminster.
To the sheriffs of London. Order to set free Frances wife of John Fernandes of Spain from Neugate prison; as lately the king ordered Thomas Cornewaleys and John Bosham then sheriffs to certify in chancery the cause of her imprisonment, and they certified that she was arrested and committed to gaol by order of Nicholas Brembre then mayor for safe custody upon suspicion of spying; and the king has compassion upon her long imprisonment, being upon suspicion only.

To Alan de Buxhull constable of the Tower of London and to his lieutenant. Order to receive John Caumbirlake knight, John Aymyere and Bernard de Aula Viridi of those who shall deliver them on the king's behalf, and to keep them in prison in safe custody until further order. By C.
Nov. 10.
Westminster.
To Alan de Buxhull (as above), or to his lieutenant. Order to deliver Oliver Claykyn knight, imprisoned in the Tower at the king's command, to the proctors or attorneys of the king of Navarre, the attorneys of John Darundell and to Thomas Tryvet knight. Proviso that before his departure the said Oliver shall content the constable for his expenses and other dues. By C.

To Ralph de Kesteven clerk, and to the executors of Robert late parson of St. Gregory London. Order under pain of forfeiture to have at the receipt of the exchequer at Westminster on Monday next, to deliver to the treasurer and the chamberlains for the king's advantage, all moneys in their hands arising from the subsidy of 50,000l. granted to the late king by the clergy of the province of Canterbury; as the king has particular information that no small sum thereof for the time that the said Ralph and Robert were receivers of the same is in their hands.

To the prior and all the monks of the abbey of St. Edmund. Order under pain of forfeiture forbidding them without licence of the king making special mention of this command to depart to any foreign parts, knowing for a surety that if they do so the king will be wroth with them and theirs; as the king is informed that the prior and many of the monks are purposing in haste to depart thither in order to do many things to the prejudice of the crown and realm.
