Feb. 18.
Westminster.
To the sheriff of Norhampton. Writ of supersedeas, by mainprise of Edmund Brudenell of Norhamptonshire, John Woderoue, Richard Milton and Robert Wilkokes of Oxfordshire, in favour of Richard Berford of Dadyngton 'wolmonger' at suit of the king for divers trespasses etc. for which he is indicted.

To the abbot and convent of Gloucestre. Nomination of John de Bilney to receive the pension wherein by reason of the abbot's new creation they are bound to one of the king's clerks until etc. By p.s.

To the sheriff of Surrey. Writ of supersedeas, by mainprise of John Olyver and Thomas Shayle of Surrey, John Cheyne of Sussex and Reynold Fatte of London, in favour of William Horderoun at suit of the king and William Huse for leaving the service of William Huse at Mikelham before the term agreed.

To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas, and order to discharge Thomas son of Godfrey de Roos and Peter Torold of London 'skynner' mainpernors of Finalaus Ussher of Scotland merchant; as at his suit, averring that in Scone he laded a ship of Seland with sixteen lasts and three barrels of herring, two chests with cloth therein and his harness to be taken to Flanders, that on its voyage the ship was driven by a storm to the river Humbre, and that Thomas de Percy then admiral from the Thames northward and other lieges have arrested and detained those goods contrary to the truce between the king and his cousin Robert of Scotland, and for that the said Thomas son of Godfrey and Peter mainperned under a pain of 100l. that he should answer at a march day for the value thereof if adjudged to the king, the king commanded the admiral or his lieutenant in the port of Kyngeston upon Hull to make restitution to the said merchant; and now he has petitioned the king for discharge of his sureties, shewing that at divers march days he was ready to answer, and no challenge or impeachment was made, and John king of Castille and Leon duke of Lancastre and the prior of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England the treasurer have witnessed by word of mouth, and Henry Percy earl of Northumberland one of the wardens of the marches by letters patent, that he appeared as aforesaid, and no man laid aught against him, and he has made oath to appear likewise at the next march day.

Thomas abbot of Tavystoke, for himself and the convent, to Benedict de Gresseby clerk. Recognisance for 20 marks, to be levied etc. of his lands and chattels and ecclesiastical goods in Devon.
Memorandum that on 16 February this year Thomas Tyngewyke clerk appeared before Thomas de Newenham clerk at the New Temple London, and being examined in presence of John de Waltham clerk made oath that he never appointed an attorney in an assize of novel disseisin arraigned under date of 28 January last under the names of the said Thomas Tyngewyke and John Dovy only before the justices of assize in Kent against Adam de Bury, John Bures, John de Leycestre, William Eynesham, Thomas Pathorne, John Walcote, Adam Clement and Michael Aunger concerning tenements in Estgrenewych, protesting that he would not prosecute any assize against William Eynesham.
Memorandum that the above was read before the chancellor, who ordered that it should be enrolled upon the chancery rolls.

To the sheriff of Oxford. Writ of supersedeas, by mainprise of Richard Ruyhale the younger of Worcestershire and John Bysele of Gloucestershire, in favour of John Adam vicar of Enston and William Chebbenore at suit of John Leukenore for trespass.
To the sheriff of Oxford. Like writ, mutatis mutandis, in favour of John Bouer clerk of Enston, John Doget and Thomas Doget.

To the abbot and convent of Crouland. Order to receive William Corby the king's esquire in that house, and grant him and Agnes his wife for life such maintenance as Adam de la Pulletrie deceased had at the late king's command; as the king has granted the same to the said William which he lately granted to the said Agnes.
