To the chamberlain of Suthwales for the time being. Order of the issues of the county of Kermerdyn to pay to David Vaghan the king's esquire the wages, fees and profits of the office of steward of Cantrefmaure in that county so long as he shall stand therein; as the king has granted him that office during pleasure, taking such wages etc. as John Laurence deceased used to take.

To John de Brunham late mayor of Lenne, John Drolle and John Prentys late bailiffs. Order to dearrest and give up to the merchants of Prucia or their attorneys all goods of theirs in coined money, cloth, iron or other merchandise by the mayor and bailiffs arrested, and all securities taken for their ships, that no new dispute arise by their default between the king and Conrad Zolver of Rothenstein master general of the order of St. Mary of the house of Theutons, and there be no breach on the king's part of an agreement made between the king, for himself and his subjects, and the master for himself, the land of Prucia and the subjects thereof, touching strife and debate concerning ships and goods arrested by the king's subjects within the realm and the master's subjects in Prucia respectively. To the mayor and sheriffs of London. Order upon their allegiance to direct certain merchants of London under pain of forfeiture before the octaves of St. Hilary at latest to pay to John Brunham late mayor of Lenne, John Drolle and John Prentys late bailiffs the several sums whereat they are assessed towards the cost of the embassy lately sent to Prucia on the king's behalf, namely Robert de Reynham 50s., William Reyneswell 10l. 16s. 8d., John Kirton 53s. 4d., Edmund Bys and Richard Wedoun 74s. 2d., Thomas Blosse and John Pepir 8l. 6s. 8d., Richard Willesdoun 3s., Henry Whitewell 6s. 8d., John Sewale 7s. 9½d. and John Whitehede 8s. 4d., so that the late mayor and bailiffs may pay to the merchants of Prucia, as they ought, straightway after their coming to England the money of theirs lately arrested and by the king's command delivered to certain ambassadors by him lately sent to Prucia, and as they will escape the king's wrath, order to cease every excuse and have all such as shall neglect or refuse to contribute as they are assessed before the king and council in chancery in the octaves aforesaid; as an agreement is made between the king and them of Prucia touching debates which arose concerning the arrest of ships and goods on either side, and the said assessment was made by attorneys of the city of London, the cities of York, Norwich, New Sarum, Winchester and Coventre, the towns of Lenne, Beverley, St. Botolphs, Colcestre, Notyngham, Haddeley and Stanewell, and is praised by the king's mouth, and by sound advice of the council it is his will that the same be levied. To John de Brunham late mayor of Lenne, John Drolle and John Prentys late bailiffs. Order to receive of singular the persons upon a roll of names and surnames of all merchants of the realm assessed to contribute to the cost of an embassy sent to Prucia for deliverance of their goods and merchandise, which the king is sending under seal, the sums assessed which are upon the roll, to pay to the king in the octaves of St. Hilary next of the first money so received 143l. 10d. which he has caused to be paid of the treasury at the receipt of the exchequer to Gerdus Ekenbroke and John Whitte merchants of Prucia for money of theirs at Lenne arrested, and to certify that day in chancery all their dealing, especially the names of such as shall refuse to contribute towards the business, that by advice of the council the king may take order for due punishment of such rebels and for speedily levying the money.
