To the abbot and convent of Whitteby. Nomination of John Blakwelle to receive the pension wherein by reason of the abbot's new creation they are bound to one of the king's clerks until by them provided with a benefice. By p.s. [8981.]
Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 100l., made in chancery 11 October this year by Roger Longe, Robert Morle, John Barton and John Drapere of Bukinghamshire for Richard Megre, that he shall do or procure no hurt or harm to Agnes Lodebroke wife of Percival le Walssh.

John Hore and Joan his wife to Nicholas Hemyngforde clerk of the chancery. Gift, for manifold willing services, of a yearly rent of 40s. for life, to be taken of the manor of Great Childirlee co. Cantebrigge; and bond for better security upon them, their heirs and executors, their goods and chattels wherever found, and upon the said manor. Dated 28 September 17 Richard II.

To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas until a month after Easter next in respect of their demand upon Alan de Kirketon late escheator in Bedfordshire and Bukinghamshire, and upon Elizabeth Lutrell, late the wife of John son of John de Veer earl of Oxford, to answer or account for the issues of a messuage, one carucate of land and 7 acres of meadow in Great Kymbell and Kyngesey, by name of all the lands whereof William Noble tenant in chief was seised at his death in his demesne as of fee; as a plea is pending in chancery between the king and the said Elizabeth, whether the same ought to pertain to the king or to her.

To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against John Hauley then escheator in Cornwall and Devon, lately appointed with others to survey the king's mines of gold and silver, lead, tin etc. in those counties new found, but order to proceed against others who did meddle therein; as he has made oath in chancery that he meddled not by virtue of that commission.

To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against the executors of Walter Godmanston then sheriff of Essex, who was ordered to make inquisition concerning all chattels of John Geffrey late bailiff of Hanyfelde, drawn and hanged for treason and felony contrary to his allegiance, which he had as his own in his bailiwick of Hanyfelde or elsewhere in Essex the day that treason and felony was committed, to seize them into the king's hand, and safe keep them until further order; as the said sheriff meddled not in aught in that writ contained, neither did any such goods and chattels come to his hands, for that he died before he might execute that writ, as John Sumpter one of his executors has made oath in chancery.

Confirmation of a charter of Edmund son of Roger de Soterlee knight, grandfather of the said Roger son of Edmund [text follows], dated Soterle, the feast of St. Margaret 8 Edward II, and witnessed by Roger le Carl, Thomas Osbern, John le Carl, John Kempe and John Gudwyne, whereby he granted to John de Soterle his uncle, and to his said uncle's heirs, licence to lead and drive ploughs and wains by a way called 'Fouxholeweye' extending from the high road of Soterle to lands of the said John in Wylyngham, with all easements thereto pertaining, giving them warranty thereof. Witnesses: Robert Carbonell knight, John Knyvet, William Joce, John Roughede, Thomas Mikelfelde. Dated Framlyngham, 21 September 17 Richard II.
Memorandum of acknowledgment at Framelyngham castle 21 September before John Rome clerk, by virtue of a dedimus potestatem which is on the file for this year.
Bernard Brocas knight to John (de) Neketon, William de Somersham and Richard de Billyngforde clerks, then tenants of the lands in question, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim, by mediation of friends on either side, of eight messuages, 120 acres of land, 15 acres of meadow and 30s. of rent in Apse, Waleton, Temseditton and Molseye, whereof a fine was levied between Oliver Brokas and Margaret his wife plaintiffs and Ralph Hervy of Fynchyngfelde and Margaret his wife deforciants, whereby the deforciants acknowledged the said Oliver's right, and made a quitclaim with warranty to the plaintiffs and the said Oliver's heirs, by reason whereof, after the deaths of the said Oliver and Margaret his wife and of John Brokas son and heir of Oliver the said Bernard claimed the premises as uncle and heir of John Brokas; and quitclaim of all other lands there and in Weston co. Surrey which John Neketon and the others have by feoffment of John Colneye esquire or any other person. Dated Waleton, 12 November 17 Richard II.
