Burgeys. Charter of messuages etc. in Calais sometime of Sir Walter
de Mauny knight and sometime in the tenure of John Morell in
'Lanternestret' on either side the street, namely between a piece of
void ground sometime of Florence Overmersshe to the south and a
messuage sometime of Baldwin Hape to the north; also of messuages
sometime in the tenure of Dame de Boys and late of Sir Walter on the
other side of the street eastward, between messuages sometime of the
said dame to the north and cottages sometime of John Scoffe to the
south, all as fully as the grantor held the same by virtue of the king's
charter. Witnesses: John Chamberleyn then mayor of Calais, Robert
Pryket, John Wodehalle, Thomas Tirwhit, John Ultyng, John Sussex,

Henry Cokham parson of St. Mary atte Hulle London, John Sybille,
John Wade, John Curtays esquire, William Bryght, Peter Exton,
William Glamville, Henry Dalby and William Lokha clerks to Nicholas
Exton citizen of London, his executors and assigns. Indenture of
lease with warranty for twenty years from Midsummer at the beginning
of 17 Richard II, for a sum of money beforehand paid, of the manor
of Dedham with a messuage, 8 acres of meadow and other rights to
that manor belonging, rendering yearly 1lb. of pepper at Christmas,
and upholding and repairing the premises when need be at his own
cost; and if sufficient distress for arrears of rent and repairs may not
there be found, it shall be lawful for the lessors again to enter and hold
the same in their first estate, this indenture notwithstanding. Covenant that if the lessee shall die within the term this lease shall be void.

Bacoun, John Compton and John Gunge (Gungee), their heirs and
assigns. Quitclaim of the manor of Ledene Rothyng with appurtenances in the manors of Loftehalle, Olyvers and Belhous in Great
Orsete, Great Staneweye and Leyre del Haye, and of four messuages,
700 acres of land, 35 acres of meadow, 60 acres of pasture, 20 acres of
wood and 14l. 5s. of rent in Bockynge, Branketree, Stistede, Panfeld,
Mundoun, Southmenstre, Aldthorne, Burnham and Maylond, which
by fine levied in the king's court John Rotere had jointly with
them (the said George omitted) by feoffment of John son of William

his wife for life, with remainder to William Parker their son and to
the heirs male of his body by Juliana his wife, remainder to John the
eldest son of the said William for life, remainder to John brother of
the said William and to the heirs male of his body, remainder to Thomas
son of Thomas Parker son of the said Richard and Alice and to the
heirs male of his body, remainder to the right heirs of the said William
Parker. Charter indented of the manor of Cheyndutes, which the
grantors had by gift of the said Richard and Alice, by fine levied in
the king's court; and licence to the said Richard and Alice at their
will to make waste or sale in all lands, woods, mills, groves, gardens
