1398.
Thomas de Aston canon of St. Mary Lincoln, and John the chaplain, warden of the hospital or domus dei of 'Spytelothestrete' in the diocese of Lincoln, to Sir William de Luda chaplain. Charter, for manifold good service to them, of 10 marks yearly quit rent payable for his life in the cathedral church of Lincoln, to be taken of the lands, manors, granges and all other their possessions to the said hospital pertaining, and especially of the churches of Skeldyngthorp and Little Carleton co. Lincoln; and they have attorned to him and put him in seisin thereof by payment of 4d.; and warranty thereof by the said Thomas, being founder of the said hospital, the said warden and all his successors. Witnesses: John de Seuerby then mayor of Lincoln, Henry Warde, Sir William Hayles, Master Robert de Halton, Sir Adam de Southo, John de Thoresby, Roger de Hampton clerk. Dated 'Spytelothestrete,' St. Edmund the Archbishop's day in winter 22 Richard II.
Memorandum of acknowledgment within the close of the said cathedral church 5 December before Richard de Wynwyke canon of the same, by virtue of a dedimus potestatem which is on the file for this year.

Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 100l., made in chancery 22 January this year by John Gamel, William Asshefelde, Philip Goodberde and Thomas Berewyke for Nicholas Gerarde, and of an undertaking by him under the same pain, that he shall do or procure no hurt or harm to Roger Thornes and William Biryton.
