Westminster.
To William Louther escheator in Westmerland. Order to take of Christiana who was wife of William de Lancastre knight an oath etc., and in presence of John son and heir of the said William, who is of full age, or of his attorneys, to assign her dower.
To Gilbert Halsall escheator in Lancashire. Like order to assign dower to the said Chirstiana of whom the king has commanded William de Louthre to take an oath etc.
May 8.
Cardiff.
To the sheriffs of London. Order to take of Henry Kebel and John Sudbury monks of Colne security to appear in chancery in the octaves of St. John Baptist next, and by such mainprise to set them free, although lately the king ordered the sheriffs to take the said monks, who cast off the reins of obedience and were wandering it was said, and to deliver them to the prior of Colne for chastisement according to the rule of their order.
