To the prior and convent of Repingdon, O.S.A., in the diocese of Coventry and Lichfield. Grant, as below. Their recent petition contained that the fruits etc. of the parish church of Willington in the diocese of Coventry and Lichfield do not exceed 5l. sterling of the money of England, and that its cure and the administration of the sacraments and sacramentals have been wont to be exercised by a secular priest; and that the bishop of Coventry and Lichfield (considering that the said fruits, etc. were so slight, that the said church was united in perpetuity to their priory, that it was not distant therefrom more than half a mile of those parts, that they observed great hospitality in their priory, and that the said 5l. did not suffice for the maintenance of the said priest), has granted them licence and faculty to have the said church governed in future, and its cure of souls exercised, by one of their canons. The pope therefore grants them indult that they may in future and in perpetuity have the said church ruled etc., as above, by one of their canons, appointed and removed at the pleasure of the prior. Ex debito ministerii. (P. and Ja. Bigneti. | P. xxv. de Varris.) [1 p. +.]

(f. 173d.)
To Archibald Kuhielaw, (fn. 1) dean of the church of St. Baya, Dumbar, in the diocese of St. Andrews, M.A. Dispensation, as below. The pope lately dispensed him to receive together with the archdeaconry of Moray, which is a nonmajor dignity, one other benefice, or without the said archdeaconry any two other benefices, with cure or otherwise incompatible, even if major or principal dignities, etc., or two parish churches or their perpetual vicarages, etc., and to retain them for two years only if they were two parish churches or their perpetual vicarages, or if not for life, and resign them, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleased. Subsequently, as his recent petition contained, he resigned the said archdeaconry and obtained the above deanery, which is a principal elective dignity with cure, and the parish church of Convoth in the same diocese, the value of both not exceeding 60l. sterling, and both of them collated to him by authority of the ordinary, and has held them together in virtue of the said dispensation. The pope, therefore, at the petition of the said Archibald, who is by both parents of noble birth, and is secretary of James, king of Scots, extends the said dispensation to two parish churches or their perpetual vicarages, or such mixed, and dispenses him to receive with the said deanery and parish church, or with such other incompatible benefices, any third benefice with cure or otherwise incompatible, even if a major or principal dignity, and to retain it for ten years, and resign it, if he pleases, simply or for exchange; provided that he do not hold more than three incompatible benefices, and that not more than two of them be parish churches or their perpetual vicarages, etc. Nobilitas generis, litterarum etc. (P. and Ja.
