1467. 13 Kal. July. (19 June.) St. Mark's, Rome. (f. 20.)	To John Bou[r]gchier, rector of the parish church of Tawstolic (or Tawstolie) in the diocese of Exeter. Dispensation, as below. Pius II dispensed him, then in his ninth year, (fn. 2) to receive and retain any benefice with cure, even if it were a parish church or its perpetual vicarage, or a dignity etc., and such dignity etc. were elective and with cure, provided that it were not major or principal, and also, together with such parish church [or perpetual vicarage] or dignity etc., any two canonries and as many prebends in any cathedral or collegiate churches, or any two other benefices without cure (simplicia), and to resign them, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleased, and to receive and retain instead three other benefices only, similar or dissimilar, namely, one with cure and two without cure [Cal. Papal Lett., Vol. XI, p. 565]; in virtue of which letters he obtained by canonical collation the said parish church of Tawstolie. (fn. 3) The pope, therefore, dispenses him, who alleges that he is of royal lineage, that he is a nephew of Thomas, cardinal priest of St. Ciriac's in T[h]ermis, that he is in his seventeenth year, and that he still holds the said church, so that after he has completed his nineteenth year he may receive and retain for life together with the said church any one other benefice, or without that church any two other benefices, with cure or otherwise incompatible, even if they be parish churches or their perpetual vicarages, or major or principal dignities, etc., or such mixed, etc., and may resign them and any future such incompatible benefices, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleases; notwithstanding the defect of age which he will be suffering, namely, that of being in his twentieth year, etc. Preclari generis nobilitas.
