He was successively rector of Sweynesheye, Lannethelly, Tallachorne (Laugharne), Castle Walwan, Burton, Huscard (Hasguard), and Southmolton, in the dioceses of St. Davids and Exeter, value 93l. 6s. 8d. which he, not being a priest, has held without dispensation. Dispensation, on resigning two of them, to retain the rest, and also the canonries and prebends he has in Wells, St. Davids, Aberwily, and Lendewibren.

Dispensation to accept one or more additional benefices to the value of 100 marks.
Id. April. Avignon. (f. 107.)	To the archbishops of Canterbury and York and the bishop of London. Mandate to cite John called ‘Francoys,’ and John de Markefelde to appear before the pope touching the canonry and prebend of York, void by the death of Adenulph de Anagnia, provision of which was made twenty years ago to Thomas de Ceccano, papal chaplain, whom the said Francoys, pretending that he had a right to the same, summoned before the archbishop of York. On Thomas sending two persons to represent him, they were seized and imprisoned by Francoys and Markefelde, who who afterwards forced Thomas to renounce his right to the canonry and prebend, whereupon he appealed to the pope.

Appointment to the archbishopric of Dublin, void by the resignation of Richard the precentor, archbishop elect, the said John having been elected bishop of Dunkeld, in a contested election. The pallium is to be given to him by three cardinals.

He is rector of St. Sampson's, Creyklade, and Wyvelingham, in the dioceses of Salisbury and Ely, and canon and prebendary of Salisbury, Wells, Lichfield, and Dublin, which he holds by papal dispensation, and also chaplain of Bourton, in the diocese of Worcester, value 7 marks, which he accepted under title of commendam. He was successively rector of Wakefield, in the diocese of York, of Franche in that of Norwich, which he resigned, and then accepted Suthreppes, in the same diocese, without papal dispensation, and thereafter, on vowing to join, Anthony, bishop of Durham, whose chaplain he was, in going to the Holy Land, received from him a dispensation to retain the same their value being 50l. no mention being made of Franche, he being now seventy years old and unable to fulfil his vow. Dispensation to retain the said benefices.
9 Kal. Feb. Avignon. (f. 125d.)	To the prior and convent of Watton, of the order of Sempringham. Confirmation, with exemplification, of the appropriation made by the archbishop of York, of the neighbouring church of Hoton, of their prtronage, to take effect on the death of the rector, Robert de Pynkering, a perpetual vicar is to be appointed, with a stipend of 24 marks and fees for special masses and marriages, with the smith's house and another contiguous, with a garden and croft adjoining the cemetery, and another croft across the road, for which, and for his beasts, he is to be tithe free; dated Cawood, 18 Kal. He was successively chaplain of Witheston, and subdeacon in the monastery of Wilton, and rector of Wike and Rappole, in the diocese of Salisbury, and on resigning the last accepted Dunhevede, about which there has been a long suit, the value of the said benefice being 49 marks, and on resigning these obtained the church of Kivele (Chievely), in the same diocese, value 40 marks, and a canonry, prebend, and archdeaconry of Salisbury, value 30 marks, which he was allowed to retain on resigning the office of subdeacon, value 1 mark. He has now accepted the prebendal church of Suthneweton in Wilton, value 24 marks, which, together with Kivele, and the canonry, prebend, and archdeaconry, he is, by the present dispensation, allowed to retain.

Surrogation, at the request of Amalvinus de Varesio, whose kinsman he is, of the canonry, chancellorship, and prebend of Salisbury, provision of which had been made to his kinsman, Pontius de Varesio. A question having arisen about the chancellorship and annexed prebend, an appeal was made to the pope, who appointed an auditor, but during the bearing of the case Pontius died. Tido has canonries and prebends in Lichfield and Beauvais, which he is allowed to retain.

7 Id. Jan. Avignon. (f. 267d.)	To the archbishop of York, the bishop of Lichfield, and Master William Testa. Mandate to relax the sequestration placed by the chapter on the property of Raymund, cardinal of New St. Mary's, who, having held the deanery and a canonry and prebend, is said to have died intestate. The said cardinal had made a disposition during his life that his property should belong to the pope. The property therefore is to be made over to the said William Testa and to Garsias Arnaldi de Garleux, papal chaplain.
11 Kal. Mar. Avignon. (f. 269.)	To the archbishop of Canterbury, the bishop of London, and the abbot of Westminster. Mandate to cite the archbishop of York to appear, personally or by proctor, within three months to answer touching the archdeaconry of Richmond, held by Francis, cardinal of St. Mary's in Cosmedin, the archbishop having presumed to visit the archdeaconry and otherwise interfere with the jurisdiction of the said cardinal archdeacon. An appeal was made to the pope, who appointed an auditor, before whom the archbishop is cited.
