Oct. 18. 1. Accompt of the full furniture of Her Majesty's ships the Lion, the Dreadnought, and Foresight, sent to the seas on the 20th of July; with the several wastes and remains of the said ships upon their return the 18th Oct. 1577.
Oct. 20. 2. Certificate by the Bp. of Rochester and others, of the Papists in the diocese of Rochester who do not come to church or receive the communion; with the valuation of their lands and goods.

9. Archbp. Grindall to the Council. Sends the certificate of Sir Tho. Scott and Mr. Tho. Wotton, relative to the recusants within his diocese. Desires their Lordships to be intercessors with Her Majesty to be restored to her favour and to his liberty.

21. Sir John Horsey and Geo. Trencharde to the Council. Difficulty of obtaining information respecting recusants within the County of Dorset, as it was uncertain in whose diocese the shire was.

23. Archbishop Sandys to same. His doings in procuring returns of such as refuse to come to church within his diocese. Has not yet had time to visit his diocese: they are a stiff-necked, wilful, and obstinate people. Incloses,
