reversion of the lease, and tries to prejudice his Lordship against him. |

104. Chamberlain to Carleton. The King refuses the Baronets'
precedence over Barons' younger sons, but grants them the arms of
Ulster in a canton, and other privileges. Sir Robt. Cotton sent out
of the way when the case was heard, because he was furnished with
records in their favour. The Duke of Bouillon arrived, and lodged
at the Charterhouse, with a train of 200. Lord Aubigny and his
wife quarrel with her father, Lord Clifton, who, in his anger,
threatens to marry again. Lord Rochester made a Privy Councillor
and reconciled to the Queen. The Lord Treasurer worse, but "the
vigor of his mind maintaines his weake body." He has three physicians, Atkins, Poe, and Lister; and two secretaries, Finet and
Sherburn. His loss would be much lamented. Sir Thos. Lake has
the signet. |
