403. The Queen of England to the Scottish Queen Dowager. [Jan. 12. 1553–54.]

Understanding by this bearer Monsieur Doysell passing to Scotland, and visiting us by the way on his master's behalf, the good mind of our said good brother of France to the peace, we thought good to signify the same to you by the said Monsieur Doysell, and seeing by the last meeting of commissioners, that "occasions of pike and conteniion" have been well removed, we will for our part omit no good mean to continue the peace.
