Feb. 6. Wednesday afternoon.	The Law duty Farmers and the late Receivers of that duty are to attend [this afternoon] about arrears [of said duty]. [Day Book p. 142.]
Feb. 7. Treasury Chambers.	Present : Lord Chancellor, Lord Treasurer. Mr. Baskervill called in about his pretension to [the advowson of] the vicarage of Wakefield, co. Yorks. He says that upon divers considerations he waives his [right of] presentation and all his pretences to that viearage and is content that any other person may be recommended to his Majesty for a grant of it and desires that the gentlemen who now appear for the town [of Wakefield] would please to recommend him to the town for his charges. The gentlemen promise to recommend him to the town accordingly and humbly pray that the Lord Chancellor and Lord Treasurer or one of them would be pleased to move the King to grant this vicarage to Mr. Lee who is a person very comformable and who served long as curate to the late vicar there and is very well beloved in the town, and the gentlemen promise further that the town shall accept of such person to be curate there as Mr. Lee will nominate or approve of, and none other, and that they shall not receive or accept of any person to be lecturer there but such as Lord Fairfax, etc., shall present unto them and approve of. Feb. 8. Friday afternoon.	The Earl of Crawford and Mr. Legross are to attend [this afternoon] about Mr. Blackwall's estate. [Day Book p. 142.]
Feb. 28.	Treasurer Danby directs that 500l. be immediately paid to Sir Robert Holmes in part of the money due to him upon his account for repairs of the fortifications in the Isle of Wight, but, in regard those accounts are not yet declared by the Lord Treasurer, Secretary Bertie has this day written to Mr. Stephens to give him credit for this sum and Sir Robert Holmes has given a note of receipt with a promise that this shall be repaid to Mr. Bertie out of the money due to him [Holmes] upon his said accompt.
