Sir Robert Wingfield reporteth the Travel of the Committee, in the Bill touching the Abuses of the Marshalsea, &c.

Much Variance and Dispute touching the Proceeding of the Committee, and the Hearing of Counsel in the House before Report, -

Whether the Jurisdiction was warranted by the Committee, and a new Bill agreed on for Reformation of the Abuses. -

Whether this Report to be accepted, sithence upon Meeting and Agreement before Easter, there was no Report; the Proceeding of the Committee at several Times crossing one another.

Argued, when, upon the Hearing of the Counsel, it was re-committed, and all Lawyers of the House added; then all former Proceedings waved, and this Commitment and Proceeding good.

In this Difference, it was thought fit, the Bill should be delivered in, and Counsel heard again publickly in the House; and to that Purpose, were appointed to attend on Saturday next, at Eight a Clock in the Morning.

Committees.

Some Committees adjourned.

Tillage in Herefordshire.

L. 3a. An Act for better Provision of Pasture and Tillage in the Parishes of Marden, alias Mawarden, &c. in the County of Hereford: - Being thirdly read, and upon the Question, passed.

Union with Scotland.

The Dispute continued by Mr. Brook, Mr. Holt, Mr. Wentworth, Mr. Carleton, Mr. Hyde, Mr. Yelverton.

The Project of perfect Union well, if in the Beginning ; now unseasonable. -

Reasons set down in the Clerk's Book, no way countervail the Judges Opinion, and so do us no Good. -

No Reasons to be presented to the King: We are told before-hand, we should have a Negative. -

The Lords have as great an Interest as we : Confer with them.

Many Reasons used, to induce these Motions; and so left for this Day. .
