POWER given to the Committee for Religion, to appoint Four, or more, of themselves, to go and examine any Witnesses in or about the Town, concerning the Bishop of Bangor, and to bring the same to the Committee; and to send for Books or Writings, concerning that Business, to inform them.

Tonage and Poundage.

Bill for Tonage and Poundage. -

Mr. Spencer moveth, a Remonstrance to his Majesty, concerning the Taking of the Tonage and Poundage without Grant in Parliament.

Moved, the Sub-committee, formerly appointed to take the Book of Rates into Consideration, with an Addition thereunto now made, besides the Power there given, to prepare Heads for a Remonstrance to his Majesty, concerning the Taking of Tonage and Poundage without Grant in Parliament.

Resolved, To let this stay to further Debate; and to proceed with the Bill for Tonage and Poundage: But the said Sub-committee to meet Two Clock this Afternoon, in the Star-chamber.

Charge against Duke of Buckingham.

Mr. Glanvyle reporteth from the select Committee of Twelve, the Examinations of a Plaister, and a Posset, given King James in his sickness. -

That divers of the King's sworn Physicians examined. -

That the sworn Physicians agreed upon certain Directions in general, and particularly, that the King should have neither Meat or Drink within certain Hours before his Fit. -

That, upon all this, the Committee of Opinion, that this should be annexed to the Duke's Charge, as a transcendent Presumption, of dangerous Consequence.

Upon the Question, whether the grand Committee of the whole House, Mr. Wandesford being in the Chair, to sit presently, and take Consideration of the Business now reported; the Question being twice put, and the Voice doubtful; the House divided: The Yea went out:
