29 Die Novembris, 10° Gulielmi Tertii; Anno Domini 1698.

Parliament further prorogued.

HIS Grace the Duke of Devonshire attending in the Place before mentioned, he administred the Oaths appointed to several of the Members who this Day appeared, and had not been sworn before; and then made the Second before-annexed (fn. 1) Commission, or Deputation, under his Hand and Seal, bearing Date this Day, to several Members of the House of Commons, to administer the said Oaths to the rest who should appear, and had not been sworn: And they administred the Oaths accordingly: And afterwards, the Members being informed, That the Parliament was to be again prorogued; by Writ directed to the Lords and Commons, they went to the House of Peers: Where the Writ for proroguing the Parliament to the Sixth Day of December next was read:

Tho. Cantuar', Devonshire, Marleborough, Romney, Orford, Cha. Mountague.

Gulielmus Tertius, Dei gra', Angliæ, Scotiæ, Franciæ, & Hiberniæ, Rex, Fidei Defensor, &c. prædilectis et fidelibus nostris prælatis, magnatibus, et proceribus, regni nostri Angliæ, ac dilectis et sidelibus nostris militibus, civibus, et burgensibus, dicti regni nostri, ad parliament' nostrum, apud civitat' nostram Westm' vicesimo nono die hujus instantis Novembris tenend', convocatis et electis, et vestrum cuilibet, salutem. Cum nos, pro quibusdam arduis et urgentibus negotiis, nos, statum et defensionem regni nostri Angliæ, ac ecclesiæ Anglicanæ, concernen', dict' parliament' nostrum vicesimo quarto die Augusti, ult' preterit', apud civitat' prædict' teneri ordinavimus; ac vobis, per separal' brevia nostra, apud civitat' et diem prædict' interesse mandavimus, ad tractand', consentiend', et concludend', super iis, quæ in dicto parliamento nostro tune et ibidem proponerentur, et tractarentur; cumque nos, per breve nostrum certis de causis, et considerationibus, nos ad hoc specialitermoventibus, dict' parliament' nostrum ab eodem vicesimo quarto die Augusti usque ad et in vicesim' sept' diem Septembris ult' præterit'; et abinde, per al' breve, usque ad et in vicesim' septim' diem Octobris ult' præterit'; et denique, per al' breve, usque ad et in vicesim' nonum diem hujus instantis Novembris duximus prorogand'; ita quod nec vos, nec aliquis vestrum ad dict' dies apud prædict' civitat' comparere teneamini, seu arctemini; volentes, vos, et quemlibet vestrum, inde erga nos penitus exonerari; et, per idem breve, vobis et cuilibet vestrum, ad vicesimum non' diem hujus instant' Novembris apud civitat' prædict' comparere et interesse nuperrime mandavimus, ad tractand', faciend', agend', et concludend', super iis, quæ in dicto parliamento nostro contigerint ordinari; quibusdam tamen certis urgentibus de causis, et considerationibus, nos ad hoc specialiter moventibus, dict' parliament' nostrum ab vicesimo nono die hujus instantis Novembris usque ad & in sext' diem Decembris prox' futur' ult' duximus prorogand'; ita quod nec vos, nec aliquis vestrum, ad vicesimum non' diem hujus instantis Novembris apud civitat' prædict' comparere teneamini, seu arctemini: Volumus enim, vos, et quemlibet vestrum, inde erga nos penitus exonerari; mandantes, et tenore præsentium firmiter injungendo præcipientes, vobis, & cuilibet vestrum, ac omnibus aliis, quibus in hac parte intersit, quod ad dict' sextum diem Decembris apud predict' civitat' Westm personal' compareatis et intersitis, et quilibet vestrum compareat, ad tractand', faciend', agend', et concludend', super iis; quæ in dicto parliamento nostro, de communi consilio dict' regni nostri, favente Deo, contigerint ordinari.
