Die Mercurii, 16 Septembris, 1646.

Prayers.

According to former Order, the House sat in a Grand Committee, to take into Consideration the Ordinance for preventing the Growth and Spreading of Heresy and Blasphemy.

Mr. Laurence Whittacre was called to the Chair.

Sir John D'Anvers, according to former Order, carried to the Lords, for their Concurrence, the Five Ordinances formerly delivered to him: And went with the former Message, to desire the Lords to expedite the Passing of the Ordinance for the Continuance of the Committee and Treasurers of the Army.

He carried likewise to the Lords, for their Concurrence, the Ordinance for the City of Chester: The Ordinance for Ten thousand Pounds, out of the Excise, for the Relief of Widows, Waggoners, and other necessitous Persons: And an Order for Mr. Lloyd to be Sheriff of the County of Flint.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

And the House was adjourned till To-morrow Morning.
