Prayers.

Warner's Estate.

ORDERED, That the Committee for Sequestrations in the County of Warwick be required forthwith to cause the Ordinance, whereby Part of the sequestered Estate of Mr. George Warner, a Delinquent, is sold and conveyed unto Sir Peter Wentworth, be obeyed, and put in Execution: And that they put Sir Peter Wentworth in Possession of the Houses and Lands contained therein: And in case of Resistance, to require the Aid of the Sheriff or Forces in the County, for the Performance thereof.

It is further Ordered, That the said Committee do take care that the Rents fallen due from the said Lands, since the Payment of the Purchase Monies by the said Sir Peter Wentworth, be paid umo him.

Brentford Minister.

Ordered, That the Sum of Threescore Pounds per Annum, out of the remaining reserved Rent of the Impropriate Rectory of Ashwell, with the Appurtenances in the County of Herts, Parcel of the Possessions belonging to the late Bishoprick of London, be settled upon, and paid by equal Portions to the Minister, and his Successors, that shall officiate, and preach at the Chapel of New Brentford in the County of Middlesex, so that the said Minister do live upon that Place, and not be Minister of Hanwell, or have Cure of Souls elsewhere: The first Payment to begin on the Five-and-twentieth of March next.

It is further Ordered, That the Trustees for the Sale of Bishops Lands be hereby authorized and required, from time to time, to issue out their Orders and Warrants to the Treasurers or Receivers, to make due Payment of the said yearly Sum of Threescore Pounds in manner as abovesaid.

And the said Order or Warrant of the Trustees, together with the Acquittance of the said Minister of Brentford, and his Successors, shall be, from time to time, a sufficient Warrant and Discharge to the said Treasurers or Receivers for the Payment of the said yearly Sum of Threescore Pounds, in manner as aforesaid, accordingly.

Reports deferred.

Ordered, That, on Saturday Morning next, the first Business, the Reports concerning the Scotts Officers, in Mr. Swynfen's Hands, be made: And then, next, the Report concerning the English Officers; the Report concerning Captain Samuell Gardiner, and concerning some French Officers.

Petition to be read.

Ordered, That, on this Day Sevennight, the first Business after the Reports of Goldsmiths Hall, the Petition of the Sequestrators at Campden House be read.

Probate of Wills.

The House resumed the Consideration of the Report touching Probate of Wills, &c.

Resolved, &c. That this shall be one Head of an Ordinance; viz.

That Suits for Legacies shall remain to be proceeded on, and determined by the same Law, as formerly they were.

Resolved, &c. That this shall be one Head of an Ordinance; viz.

That the Granting of Commissions of the Goods and Chattels, and the Dependencies thereupon, shall remain to be proceeded on, and determined by the same Law, as formerly they were.

Resolved, &c. That this shall be one Head of an Ordinance; viz.

That all Causes of Marriage and Divorce shall remain to be proceeded on, and determined by the same Law, as formerly they were.

Civilians, &c.

Ordered, That the House do proceed in this Report, concerning Civilians and Civil Courts, on Monday Morning next, the first Business after Goldsmiths Hall Reports.

Crown Jewels.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of Lords and Commons, at Derby House, to consider of, and take the best Course they may, to prevent the Sale and Alienation of the Crown Jewels.

Alderman Chambers, &c.

Ordered, That, on Saturday Morning next come Sevennight, the first Business after Goldsmiths Hall Reports, the Report concerning Alderman Chambers, and others, that suffered for their Affections to the Parliament of tertio Caroli, be made and considered.

Tryals in King's Bench.

Ordered, That the King's Counsel be required to meet with the Judges of the King's Bench To-morrow at Five of Clock, at Serjeants Inn in Fleetstreet: And that all the Judges be desired to meet there at the same time: And that the Committee of the Members of this House of the Long Robe, formerly appointed, with the Addition of Mr. Selden, Sir Thomas Widdrington, Mr. Say, Mr. Reynolds, Mr. Lislebon Long, Mr. Maynard, and Mr. Ellis, be required likewise to meet the Judges To-morrow, at Five of Clock, at Serjeants Inn in Fleetstreet, to consider of the Indictments and Tryals that are appointed to be had this Term, in the King's Bench.

Newcastle Garison.

Ordered, That the Officers of the Ordnance, do forthwith deliver out Four whole Culverins of Brass, well fortified, for the Service of the Garison of Newcastle; the Carriages being ready, and shod, and are assigned for that Service.

Judges Salaries.

Ordered, That on Monday next come Sevennight, the Ordinance concerning the Judges Salaries be read the Second time.

Message from Lords.

A Message from the Lords, by Dr. Heath and Mr. Eltonhead;

The Lords have received a Letter from General Leven, in the Behalf of Mr. Robert Fenwick: They especially recommend the Matter of this Letter to this House.- A Report from the Committee of the Admiralty and Cinque Ports, signifying, That the Ordinance for pressing Mariners is expired; and an Order upon it to renew the said Ordinance: In which they desire the Concurrence of this House.- They desire to put this House in mind of a Petition of Captain Gualter: It concerns the Sum of Forty Pounds, which he hath disbursed for the Parliament; and, by reason of the Want thereof, he lieth in Prison for a small Debt.- They recommend the Petition of the Lord Petre; upon which they have made an Order: In which they desire the Concurrence of this House.-An Order for the Naturalization of Catharin Prude: In which they desire the Concurrence of this House.-A Petition from the Garison of Portesmouth; which they recommend to this House.

Grant to Fenwick.

The Letter from General Leven, from Edinburgh, of 22 Martii, 1647, in the Behalf of one Mr. Robert Fenwick, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the Sum of One thousand Pounds be bestowed upon, and paid unto Mr. Robert Fenwick, in respect of his very great and good Services to the Parliament, and his Losses, out of such concealed Delinquents Estates, as he shall discover to the Committee at Haberdashers Hall; or out of the Surplussage of such Delinquents Estates, as have compounded at Goldsmiths Hall, and not given in true and full Particulars of their Estates: And the respective Committees are to pay it unto him accordingly; he delivering in, at one time, the Names of such Delinquents he shall discover to the said respective Committees.

Impressing Mariners.

It is Ordered, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, That the Ordinance, dated septimo Februarii 1645, for Impresting of Mariners for the Service of the Fleet, be continued, and remain in Force, in all the Clauses and Parts thereof, both as to the Ships now abroad, and those which shall be hereafter set forth for the Parliament's Service, until the First Day of January, 1648.

Mr. Fenwick.

Ordered, That the Place of Register in the Ecclesiastick or Civil Courts, in York or Duresme, when they shall be settled, be bestowed upon Mr. Robert Fenwick, in further Consideration and Recompence of his faithful Services, and great Losses.

Suspected Persons, &c.

Ordered, That Power be given to the Lieutenant of the Tower, or such as he shall appoint, to enter into, and make Search in all Houses and Places within the late Line of Communication, that they shall have Occasion to suspect, for suspicious Persons, Arms, Ammunition, and other Materials of War: And shall have Power to apprehend such Persons, and make Seizure of such Arms, Ammunition, or other Materials of War: And that, from time to time, the Persons so by them apprehended, and the Arms, Ammunition, or other Materials of War, so by them seized, be referred to the Committee of Derby House, to be disposed, as they shall see Cause.

Navy Supply.

Ordered, That on Tuesday next, the first Business, and nothing to intervene, the House do take into Consideration the Providing of Monies for speeding out the next Summer's Fleet: And that Mr. Green be here at the first Sitting of the House, to make his Reports in Order to this Business.

Ordered, That the Committee of the Navy be required to meet constantly, from Day to Day; and consider of all Ways and Means that may conduce to and speed out the next Summer's Fleet; and to prepare all in such a Readiness; as may be fit to be presented to the House, on Tuesday Morning next.

Securing King's Person.

A Message from the Lords, by Dr. Aylett and Mr. Eltonhead;

The Lords have commanded us to return unto you the Votes they Yesterday received, concerning the securing his Majesty in the Isle of Wight; with one Amendment: In the which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The Amendment was read; and was, to add to the last Vote these Words, "to continue in the said Service during the Pleasure of both Houses."

Message from Lords.

A Second Message from the Lords, by Dr. Aylett and Mr. Eltonhead;

The Lords have commanded us to deliver unto you an Ordinance to make Mr. Wm. Strong Vicar of Dunstan's in the West: To return the Judges Circuit: To which they agree, with one Addition; in which they desire the Concurrence of this House: Which was, to add Mr. Serjeant Clerk to Mr. Justice Rolle:-An Ordinance concerning Mrs. Highlord, for vacating a Recognizance: In which they desire the Concurrence of this House:- An Ordinance for appointing one Mr. Somerscales to be Comptroller of the Customs in the Port of Kingston upon Hull.

Vicar of Dunstans.

The Ordinance for making Mr. Wm. Stronge Vicar of the Church of Dunstan's in the West, London, now sent from the Lords, was read; and, upon the Question, passed.

Highlord's Recognizance.

The Order for Mrs. Highlord, for vacating a Recogninance, upon her paying in of Twelve hundred Pounds to the Committee at Haberdashers Hall (upon a former Ordinance of both Houses), was read; and, upon the Question, passed.

Northampton Circuit.

Ordered, That, as to the Addition of Mr. Serjeant Clerk to go the Northampton Circuit, this House will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Customs.

An Ordinance for making Thomas Somerscale Comptroller of the Customs in the Port of Hull was read; and, upon the Question, passed.

Answer returned to the First Message; That this House has considered their Lordships Message; and do agree to the Ordinance concerning the pressing Mariners: To the rest, they will send Answer by Messengers of their own.

Answer returned to the Second Message; That this House has considered their Lordships Message; and do agree to the Addition in the Votes concerning the King.

Answer returned to the Third Message; That this House has considered their Lordships Message; And, as to the Addition of Serjeant Clerk to go the Northampton Circuit, they will send Answer by Messengers of their own: To the rest, they do agree.

Ld. Graie's Officers.

Ordered, That the Petition concerning the Lord Graie's Officers be read on Saturday Morning next.

Whalley's Arrears.

Mr. Wheeler made Report of Certificates concerning the Accompts of Colonel Edward Whalley: And likewise tendered an Ordinance, in pursuance of a former Order of this House, for making Satisfaction to the said Colonel Whalley, for his Arrears, out of certain Lands, Parcel of the Possessions of the Earl of Newcastle.

Resolved, &c. That Colonel Edward Whalley shall have the Manor of Flawborough in the County of Nottingham, at the Rate of Fifteen Years Purchase, according to the Value certified of Four hundred and Ten Pounds Two Shillings per Annum.

Ordered, That the Certificate, Letters, and Business, be read, and considered on Wednesday Morning next, the first Business.

An Ordinance for conveying unto Colonel Edward Whalley the Manor, Lands, and Tenements, of the Earl of Newcastle, in Flawborowe in the County of Nottingham, at the Rate of Fifteen Years Purchase, in Consideration of his Arrears, and of the Surplussage Monies, to be by him paid, was this Day read the First time; and ordered to be read the Second time, on Saturday Morning next.

Army.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the Army, to provide Boots for the Horse Guards (for each Trooper a Pair); in manner as Shoes and Stockings were ordered to be provided for the Soldiers of the Foot Guards.

Ordered, That, on Monday Morning next, the first Business, the Report from the Committee of the Army be made, and taken into Consideration.

Pembroke Castle.

Ordered, That a Letter be sent to the Governor of Pembroke Castle, to deliver up the said Castle, according to such Orders as he shall receive from the General.

Mr. Scawen is appointed to prepare this Letter: And Mr. Speaker to sign it.

Declaration of Non-Addresses.

Ordered, That the House do now proceed in the Consideration of the Declaration, expressing the Reasons of passing the Resolutions concerning the King.

The said Declaration was accordingly now read the Second time.
