Prayers.

Privilege.

ORDERED, That Thomas Knapper, Anthony Cooke, and Abraham Selfe, now in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for a Breach of Privilege against Sir James Thyn, a Member of this House, having submitted, be, upon the Motion and by the Consent of the said Sir James Thynn, discharged of their Commitment, paying their Fees.

Lady Savile's Portion.

An ingrossed Bill, sent from the Lords, for the better Securing of a Portion of Five thousand Pounds, to the Lady Frances Savile, an Infant Daughter of Thomas late Earl of Sussex, out of Part of the Estate of James Earl of Sussex, also an Infant, in pursuance of the Will of the said Thomas Earl of Sussex, was read a Third time, with the Amendments made by this House; and, upon the Question, agreed.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments, do pass; and be returned to the Lords: And Sir Adam Browne is to carry up the Bill.

Stanley's Estate.

Colonel Kirkby reports from the Committee to which the Bill, sent from the Lords, for enabling Trustees to make Leases for Payment of the Debts, and making Provision for the Children of Sir Charles Stanley, an Amendment agreed to be made, by the Committee, to the Bill: Which he read: And the Amendment was twice read; and, on the Question, agreed; and, the Bill, with the Amendments, read the Third time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill with the Amendments do pass: And that Colonel Kirkby do carry up the Bill to the Lords.

Managers of Conference.

Ordered, That Sir Robert Atkins, Sir Edw. Thurland, Sir John Mainard, Mr. Mountague, Mr. Swynfen, Mr. Vaughan, Mr. Solicitor, Mr. Waller, Sir Thom. Gower, be appointed to manage the Conference to be had with the Lords.

Rebuilding London.

The House then resumed the Consideration of the Amendments reported from the Committee to which the Bill for better Rebuilding the City of London was committed: And the several Amendments were the First time read.

And then the House adjourned till Three of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Offices in Arrear.

A BILL for Recovery of Monies charged upon Offices yet in Arrear to his Majesty, was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read the Second time To-morrow Morning.

Rebuilding London.

The House did then proceed to the Consideration of the rest of the Amendments to the Bill for the better Rebuilding the City of London.

And the several Amendments, Clauses, and Alterations to the Bill, precedent to the Three Clauses to be added at the End of the Bill, were read a Second time; and, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

The First of those Clauses, marked N° 1, and Letter A, relating to give Power for enlarging Streets to Eighteen Foot Breadth, was read the Second time.

The Question being put, That this Clause be agreed to;

It passed in the Negative.

The Second Clause, marked Letter B, N° 2, was postponed.

The Third Clause, marked C, was twice read; and on the Question, agreed to.

Another Clause was tendered; relating to the Recompence to be made to such whose Grounds should be taken away; and the Means of Recovery: And the Words "or Market Place," upon the Question, agreed, and inserted into the Clause, and the Blank filled up with "Twelve."

The Question being put, To agree to this Clause;

It passed in the Negative.

The Clause, marked B, was read the Second time; and, upon the Question, agreed to.

Another Proviso, for such as would build their own Grounds at the Exchange, was twice read: And these Words, "and with the like Materials, and at the same time," upon the Question, agreed, and inserted: And the Proviso, as amended, was agreed to, and made Part of the Bill.

A Proviso touching the Ground belonging to the Prison of the Fleet, was tendered; and, upon the Question, rejected.

A Proviso tendered, for making Provision for publick Wharfs, was read the First and Second time.

The Question being put, That these Words "the Old Wardrobe" be left out of the Clause;

It passed in the Negative.

The Question being put, That the said Proviso be made Part of the Bill;

The House was divided.

The Yeas went forth.

A Proviso for referring of it to the Justices of the King's Bench, Common Pleas, and Barons of the Exchequer, to judge and determine in all Cases wherein the Lord Mayor, or any Aldermen of the City may be concerned, was read the First and Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the said Proviso be agreed to, and made Part of the Bill.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments and Provisoes agreed to, be ingrossed.
