Church of Long Sutton established as preb. c. 20 Feb. 1200 × 8 Aug. 1205, to be held by abbot of Athelney (EEA X no. 249; cf. ibid. no. 248); conf. by bp. Jocelin 28 May 1207 × 27 May 1208 (Taunton, Som. Record Office DD/TB Box 20/4 p. 12). (fn. 1) Composition relating to the preb. dated 1260 (ibid. p. 18).
