The Secretary laid before the Board an account of the petty expences and incidental charges of this office from the 5th of April to the 5th of July, 1760, amounting in the whole to three hundred and eighty pounds, two shillings; and a letter to the Lords of the Treasury, desiring payment thereof, and of the salaries due to the Secretary and under officers in the service of this Board, was signed.

Georgia.

The Secretary laid before the Board a Memorial prepared by the agent for the colony of Georgia, to be presented to the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury, praying that out of the balance of his account for the year 1758, he may have orders to apply sixty four pounds to the discharge of bills drawn upon him by the Governor, on account of the bounty on the culture of silk; and the said memorial having been approved, the agent was ordered to present it to the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury for their lordships' directions upon it.

Read the following Orders of the Lords of the Committee of Council for Plantation Affairs, viz.
Massachusetts.
Order of the Lords of the Committee of Council for Plantation Affairs, dated 19th June, 1760, referring to this Board, for their consideration and report, the petition of the Earl of Stirling and others, to his Majesty, praying that they may be put in possession of a tract of land called the County of Canada, with all the rights granted to the first Earl of Stirling; and that the Government of the Massachusets Bay may cease to exercise any jurisdiction therein.
New York.

Order of the Lords of the Committee of Council for Plantation Affairs, dated June 19th, 1760, referring to this Board, for their consideration and report, the petition of the Earl of Stirling and others, to his Majesty, praying that payment may be made to them of £7000 and interest, agreed to be paid by the Duke of York, afterwards King James the 2nd, to the first Earl of Stirling, for the purchase of the Islands of Stirling; or that the lands in the said islands may be restored to the petitioners, and the quit rents paid to them for the future.
Jamaica.
Order of the Lords of the Committee of Council for Plantation Affairs, dated June 3rd, 1760, referring to this Board, for their consideration and report, the petition of Peter Furnell of Jamaica, merchant, praying relief against Norwood Witter, Esquire, one of the Council there, who refuses to pay a debt due to the petitioner.

Massachusetts.

Read an Order of the Lords of the Committee of Council for Plantation Affairs, dated July 10th, 1760, referring to the Board, for their consideration and report, the petition of Reuben Cognehew, an Indian, complaining of encroachments made by the English on the lands belonging to his tribe.

The petitioner attending without was called in; and their lordships having heard, what he had to offer in support thereof, he withdrew; and the draught of a report thereon to the Lords of the Committee of Council for Plantation Affairs was ordered to be prepared.

Africa.

fo. 219.

The Secretary having acquainted the Board, that several of the Committee of the Company of Merchants trading to Africa were attending without, they were called in, and laid before the Board a letter from the Secretary to the Board of Ordnance to their Secretary, acquainting him, for the information of the Committee, that Captain Baugh will soon have finished the fort at Annamaboe, and has orders to deliver it to such officers of the Committee as they shall appoint to receive it. And the Committee desiring the opinion of their lordships on the draught of a letter, which they had prepared in answer to the above, their lordships, upon consideration of the said draught, approved it as necessary and proper.
