ERRATA TO VOLUME 1.
The Editor regrets a very serious error on page 289, under date 1469 the words "uncle of Lawrence Washington of Sulgrave" should be deleted.
There are also several confusions between the "u" and the "n," as for instance on page 130 "Lander" should read "Lauder"; on pp. 131, 355 and 444 "Souky" should read "Sonky"; on pp. 222 and 433 "Mohant" should read "Mohaut"; on p. 310 "Dannay" should read "Daunay"; and on p. 355 "Ranthworth" should read "Rauthworth."
In like manner there are several single letter mistakes, as for instance on p. vii "on tenmantale" should read "or tenmantale"; on p. 29 (1382) "the said earl and Matilda her mother" should read "his mother"; on p. 132 (1250) "Renegil" should be "Revegil"; p. 133 "Bella Agua" should be "Aqua"; p. 152 (1530) "Laweray" should be "Lawcray"; p. 157 "Bambrig" should read "Bainbrig"; on p. 295 "lffe" should be "life"; and on p. 403 "le Albini" should read "de Albini."
There are three mistakes in the figures, viz:—on p. 18, "a grant made in 1326" should read "in 1316"; on p. 111, "14 Charles 1 (1659)" should be "(1639)"; and on p. 348, "page 332" should read "342."
