Vote from H. C. that K. James has abdicated, and that the Throne is vacant.
The House was adjourned during Pleasure into a Committee, upon the last Clause in the Vote sent up from the House of Commons of the 28th of this Instant, ["and that the Throne is thereby vacant"].
The House resumed.
And the Earl of Danby reported, "That the Committee had considered thereof; and, after Debate, came to this Question,
Proposal for declaring the P. and Pss. of Orange King and Queen.
"Whether, instead of ["the Throne is thereby vacant"], should be inserted ["the Prince and Princess of Orange be declared King and Queen"]?"
Then the previous Question was put,
"Whether this Question shall be now put?"
Resolved in the Negative.
Then this Question was put,
Whether to agree with H. C. that the Throne is vacant.
"Whether to agree with the House of Commons in these Words of the Vote ["that the Throne is thereby vacant"]?"
Resolved in the Negative.
To which the House agreed.
Protest against rejecting those Words.
Leave was given to any Lords to enter their Dissents; and accordingly these Lords following do enter their Dissents, by subscribing their Names:
