Message to H. C. that the Lords agree to the Vote against Government by a Popish Prince;

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Mr. Metham:

To let them know, that the Lords unanimously concurred with them in their Vote of the 29th of January, "That it has been found by Experience to be inconsistent with the Safety and Welfare of this Protestant Kingdom, to be governed by a Popish Prince."

and with Amendments to their Vote, about K. James's abdicating.

And to carry down the Amendments to the Vote of the 28th of January: In the 8th Line, instead of the Word ["abdicated"], to insert the Word ["deserted"]; and to leave out the Words ["and that the Throne is thereby vacant"] in the 9th Line, to which the Lords do not agree.

Order for restoring the E. of Peterborough's Trunks and Goods.

The House being moved, on the Behalf of the Right Honourable the Earl of Peterborough, now Prisoner in The Tower, "That he might have his Trunks and Good restored, which were taken from him by rude People, when he was stayed and made Prisoner at Ramsgate:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled at Westminster, That all such Goods or Trunks belonging to the said Earl of Peterborough shall be, upon Sight hereof, restored to the said Earl or his Servants, in whose Hands or Custody soever the said Goods or Trunks shall be found; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.
