The Lord Keeper acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had sent a Commission for the further proroguing of this Parliament."

Then the Lords Commissioners, in their Robes, being seated on a Form placed between the Throne and the Woolsack; the Lord Keeper in the Middle; and the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury on his Right Hand; and the Lord Bishop of London on his Left Hand; commanded the Deputy Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to go to the House of Commons, and let them know, "That the Commissioners desire they would be present, to hear the said Commission read."

"By Virtue of Her Majesty's Commission now read, and to us directed, we do, in Her Majesty's Name, prorogue this Parliament to Tuesday the Four and Twentieth Day of this Instant October: And this Parliament is prorogued accordingly to Tuesday the Four and Twentieth Day of this Instant October."
