Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for continuing an Act, made in the First Year of Her Majesty's Reign, intituled, An Act for the rebuilding and repairing the Piers of the Town and Port of Whitby, in the County of York."

Cecil et al. Leave for a Bill.

After reading, and considering, the Report of Mr. Baron Price and Mr. Justice Dormer, to whom was referred the Petition of the Honourable William Cecil Esquire, the Honourable Charles Cecil Esquire, and the Right Honourable John Earl of Exeter; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for the Purposes in the Petition mentioned:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners have hereby Leave to bring in a Bill, according to the Prayer of the Petition.

Ellis versus Fowle.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Patrick Ellis, of London, Merchant, from several Orders and Proceedings of the Court of Chancery, of the Thir teenth of April, the Thirteenth of July, the Twentieth of July, the Seven and Twentieth of October, and the Eighteenth of December last, and from the Master's Report, made in Pursuance of the last Order, and the Order for confirming thereof, the Twentieth Day of January last, made on the Behalf of John Fowle, Executor of Robert Fowle deceased; and praying the Reversal and setting aside of the said Orders:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Sir John Fowle may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and he is hereby required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Tuesday the Two and Twentieth Day of this Instant February, at Eleven a Clock.

Stafford's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for vesting in Trustees the Reversion of several Lands and Tenements, expectant on Leases for Lives, the Estate of Hugh Stafford, of Pynes, in the County of Devon, Esquire, to be sold for Payment of Debts; and, by discharging his Power of leasing, to secure other Lands to come into Possession to his Son, in Lieu thereof."

Upon the First Reading of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting in Trustees, the Reversion of several Lands and Tenements, expectant on Leases for Lives, the Estate of Hugh Stafford of Pynes, in the County of Devon, Esquire, to be sold for Payment of Debts; and, by discharging his Power of leasing, to secure other Lands, to come into Possession to his Son, in Lieu thereof:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Bill, shall be, and is hereby, referred to Mr. Justice Gould and Mr. Baron Lovell; who are forthwith to summon all Parties that are to be concerned therein; and, after hearing them, and perusing a Copy of the Bill attested by the Clerk of the Parliaments, are to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands.

Young's Petition referred to Judges.

Upon reading the Petition of Mary Young, the Widow and Relict of Joshua Young Gentleman, deceased, and Elizabeth Young, an Infant, the only Child, Daughter and Heir of the said Joshua Young; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for Sale of the Estate in the Petition mentioned, for Payment of the Debts chargeable thereupon, and making Provision for the Petitioner Elizabeth, and other Purposes in the Petition set forth:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Petition shall be, and is hereby, referred to Mr. Baron Price and Mr. Justice Dormer; who are forthwith to summon all Parties concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands, and whether all Parties that may be concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.

Sainthill's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Edward Sainthill (late Edward Yard) Esquire, to change his Surname of Yard to Sainthill, according to the Will of Samuel Sainthill Esquire, deceased."
