Lynch's Bill.

The Earl of Warwick reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Robert Lynch Esquire to assume and take upon him the Name of Blosse," was committed "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true, and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Ordered, That the said Bill be engrossed.

Steuart & al against Heron.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Mrs. Agnes Steuart of Phisgill and John Hathorn of Overaries her Husband, for his Interest, complaining of an Interlocutor of the Lords of Session in Scotland, of the 9th of February last, and also of another Interlocutor of the same Lords, of the 22d of the same Month, whereby they adhered to their former Interlocutor, made on the Behalf of Christian Heron, and praying, "That the same may be reversed, varied, or amended; and that the Appellants may have such other Relief as to their Lordships in their great Wisdom shall seem meet."

It is Ordered, That the said Christian Heron may have a Copy of the said Appeal, and she is hereby required to put in her Answer thereunto, in Writing, on or before Tuesday the 30th Day of this Instant March, and that Service of this Order on any of her Procurators or Agents be deemed good Service.

Address for State of the National Debt.

Ordered, That an humble Address be presented to His Majesty, "That He will be graciously pleased to order the proper Officer to lay before this House a State of the National Debt, provided or unprovided for by Parliament, as it stood on the 31st of December 1747, and 31st of December 1748; together with an Accompt of the Produce of the Sinking Fund in that Year; and to the Payment of what Debts, contracted before the 25th of December 1716, the said Fund hath been applied."

Ordered, That the said Address be presented to His Majesty by the Lords with White Staves.

Upon reading the Petition of Francis Lord Napier, Respondent to the Appeal of Francis Scott, setting forth, "That he is advised that, if he should apply to this House to appoint a Day for hearing the said Appeal, it could not, by the usual Courie, be proceeded in till all the Plaintiffs and Defendants in the Court of Session in Scotland are made Parties," and praying, "That such Order may be made, for the Petitioner's Relief, towards bringing this Cause to a speedy Hearing, as to their Lordships in their great Wisdom and Justice shall seem meet, the Appellant's Agent being served with Notice of this Petition"

The Lord Chamberlain reported, "That the Lords with White Staves had (pursuant to the Order of this House Yesterday) waited on His Majesty, to congratulate Him on the joyful Occasion of her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales's happy Delivery of a Princess, and that His Majesty was pleased to receive the same very graciously, and said, He looked upon it as a fresh Instance of their Lordships Duty and Affection to His Person and Family"

and the Prince of Wales's Answer to it.

The Marquis of Rockingham reported, "That he and the Lord Montfort had (according to Order) attended his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, with the Congratulatory Message from this House, on the joyful Occasion of her Royal Highness the Princess of Wales's happy Delivery of a Princess; and that his Royal Highness was pleased to return their Lordships his Thanks, for this new Instance of their Duty to the King, and of their Regard to him."

Countess Kildare & al against Burton & al.

Upon reading the Petition of Robert, Charles, and Frances Burton, Respondents to the Appeal of Mary Countess of Kildare and others, setting forth, "That the said Appeal stands to be heard on Wednesday next, and that the Petitioners are advised they cannot safely proceed to the Hearing, without having the attested Copies of the Proceedings, Books, and Exhibits, produced at the Hearing below," and praying, "That the said Hearing may be adjourned till after Easter."

It is Ordered, That the said Hearing be accordingly put off to the First vacant Day for Causes after the approaching Recess, and that the other Causes do come on in Course, after that abovementioned.

Blackwood's Petition rejected.

A Petition of Robert Blackwood Esquire, was presented, and read, praying Liberty to amend his Appeal, by adding an Interlocutor of the Lords of Session, of the 22d of February last, whereby they refused the Desire of a Petition, of the Petitioner, to stop an Inhibition therein mentioned, he being willing to amend the Respondents Copy.

And thereupon the Agents on both Sides were called in, and heard at the Bar.

And being withdrawn:
