His Majesty's Answer to the Address for Articles of War.
The Earl Fitzwalter reported, "That the Lords with White Staves had (pursuant to the Order of this House of Friday last) presented to His Majesty their Lordships Address, for the Articles of War intended to be established for the Year ensuing, and that His Majesty had given Orders accordingly."
Articles of War delivered.
The House being informed, "That Mr Lloyd, from the War-office, attended"
He was called in, and delivered, at the Bar, pursuant to the said Address,
"Rules and Articles for the better Government of His Majesty's Horse and Foot Guards, and all other His Forces, in Great Britain and Ireland, Dominions beyond the Seas, and Foreign Parts, with a Paper of Alterations therein."
And then he was directed to withdraw.
And the Title of the said Articles being read.

Leominster Road, Bill.
The Earl of Oxford reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for enlarging the Term and Powers granted by an Act passed in the Second Year of the Reign of His present Majesty, for repairing the several Roads therein mentioned, leading into the Town of Leominster, in the County of Hereford, and for making the said Act more effectual," was committed "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true, and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."
Mardstone Road, Bill.
The Earl of Warwick made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to continue Two Acts of Parliament, One of the First, and the other of the Ninth, Year of the Reign of His present Majesty, for repairing and enlarging the Road leading from the House called The Sign of the Bells, in the Parish of Saint Margaret in Rochester, to Maidstone, and other Roads therein mentioned, in the County of Kent, and for rendering the same more effectual," was committed.
Stamford Road, Bill.
The same Earl made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for effectually amending and repairing the Road leading from Wansford Bridge, in the County of Northampton, to the Town of Stamford, in the County of Lincoln," was committed.
Renner's Nat Bill.
His Lordship also reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing George William Renner," was committed That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true, as also the Petition to them referred, and had gone through the Bill, and made some Amendments thereunto."
Which, being read Twice by the Clerk, were agreed to by the House.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of James Duke of Hamilton and Brandon, Susanna Countess of Cassillis and John Earl of Cassillis her Husband, Dunbar Earl of Selkirk, William Earl of March and Ruglen, Alexander Hamilton of Pancailland Esquire, and Anthony Sawyer Esquire, Deputy Paymaster of His Majesty's Forces in North Britain, complaining of certain Interlocutors, as well of the Lord Ordinary as Lords of Session in Scotland, or Parts thereof, the last dated the 22d of February 1748/9, made on the Behalf of Thomas Earl of Haddingtoun, George Lockhart of Carnwath, John Pringle, Sir George Stewart, Sir James Hall, Elizabeth Adamson, Isobell, Katherine, Veronica, and Agnes Callendar, and praying, "That the same may be reversed, altered, or varied, and that the Appellants may have such Relief as to this House shall seem meet"
It is Ordered, That the said Thomas Earl of Haddington and the several Parties last named may have a Copy of the said Appeal, and do put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on or before Monday the 10th Day of April next; and that Service of this Order on the Agent, Solicitor, or Procurators, who appeared for the said Respondents, or any of them, be deemed good Service.

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for confirming an Order and Rule of the Court of Common Pleas, for assessing certain Lands and Tenements, in the Manor of Betlow, to the Parochial Rates and Levies of and in the Parish of Tring, in the County of Hertford," to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
The said Bill was read the First Time.
Dr Cotton's Bill.
The Lord Willoughby of Parham reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting Part of the settled Estate of Nathaniel Cotton Doctor in Physic, lying in the County of Hertford, in Trustees, in Trust, to sell the same, and to lay out the Money arising by such Sale in the Purchase of another Estate, to be settled to the Uses of his Marriage Settlement," was committed "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

The same Lord reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for discharging the Estate of William Levinz Esquire, in Bilby, Ranby, and Stirrop, in the County of Nottingham, from a Yearly Payment of Thirty Pounds, given by Sir Creswell Levinz Knight, for Charitable Uses, and for charging the same on his Estate at Grove, in the same County," was committed "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true, that the Parties concerned had given their Consents, and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and made some Amendments thereunto."

"A State of the National Debt, provided or unprovided for by Parliament, as it stood on the 31st of December 1747, and 31st of December 1748, together with an Accompt of the Produce of the Sinking Fund in that Year; and to the Payment of what Debts, contracted before the 25th of December 1716, the said Fund hath been applied."
