Abstract

George and Richard Greaves were cited to appear before the Court of Chivalry on 8 February 1638 by Bradshawe for scandalous words provocative of a duel. On 20 October 1638 there was reference to Dr Duck being required to prove the libel and to a possible agreement between the parties; but no further proceedings survive. [For George Greaves's counter suit see cause 252].

Summary of proceedings

Dr Duck acted as counsel for Bradshawe and Dr Exton for Greaves. On 20 October 1638 Dr Duck was required to prove the libel.
