Abstract
Thymelby complained that on 1 July 1639 Hills said 'he was a cheatinge knave, and that he would marke your petitioner for a cheatenge knave and ... speake and publish those wordes before any company in England.' Process was granted and Thymelby entered bond on 12 October 1639; but nothing further survives.

'The petitioner is a gent. descended of an auncient family. Notwithstanding, one Mr Hills of the parish of St Martins in the Feildes, on the first day of July last past, did very much scandalize and abuse your petitioner telling him to his face in a most reprochfull manner that he was a cheatinge knave, and that he would marke your petitioner for a cheatenge knave, and that he would speake and publish those wordes before any company in England, thereby much disgraceinge your petitioner and provoking him to duell.'
Presented 10 October 1639.
Petitioned that Hills be brought to answer.
Maltravers granted process on 12 October 1639.
