Identified in Vestry Minute Book of St. Bartholomew the litell with "Leggesaleye" (q.v.).

Site now occupied by the Bank of England. Named after the sign.

Nagg's Head Inn

South out of London Wall at Little Winchester Street, opposite the Church of All Hallows in ye Wall (O. and M. 1677-Strype, 1755).

Not mentioned in Maitland, Ed. 1775.

Described as a passage to Winchester Street (Hatton, 1708).

A Greek chapel occupied the site in O.S. 1880.

Nag's Head Alley

West out of the Minories. In Portsoken Ward (Rocque, 1746 - Boyle, 1799).

The site seems to be occupied in the earlier maps by " Black Horse Court" (O. and M. 1677-Strype, Ed. 1720).

Named after the sign, which is said to have been adopted to illustrate the constant changes in fashions which took place in England, rendering it difficult to decide what style of dress to adopt.

North out of Ludgate Hill, in Farringdon Ward Without (Hatton, 1708-Horwood, 1799). Next the Seven Stars.

A famous coffee-house in Fleet Street, at the east corner of Inner Temple Lane, next to Lintot's, the bookseller.

Wheatley says it is mentioned in a deed of 1696.
