"Mesuagio brasineo" called the "Wrastelars" in Aldrichegate street in parishof St. Botolph Without Aldrichegate, I Ed. VI. 1547 (Lond. I. p.m. I. 100).

Wrestler's Court

South out of London Wall, west of Carpenters' Hall (O. and M 1677-Boyle, 1799).

Called "Wrestley's Court "in Strype, 1755 and Boyle.

Had houses only on the west side, the eastern side being the back side of Carpenters' Hall.

Site rebuilt for business purposes.

Wrestlers' Court

South out of Camomile Street at No.2 (P.O Directory). In Bishopsgate Ward Within.

First mention: Lockie, 1810.

Former name: "Clark's Alley" (O. and M. 1677-Boyle, 1799).

In Stow's time there was a house called the "Wrestlers" against the wall of the City (S. 152, 172), from which this Court took its name.

Wycherley's Yard

On the south side of Thames Street in the parish of St. Dunstan in the east, in Tower Ward.

Devised by will of Sir Wm. Herriott, 1506, to the Drapers' Company, by the name of "Vernon's quay."

It seems to be on or near the site of Bear Quay in Horwood, now covered by the Custom House.
