LIST OF MAPS, PLANS, AND OTHER TEXT FIGURES

Figures 1–3, 16, and 25 were drawn by Philip Moss and figures 4, 8, and 26 by Peter Dening and Janette Walker of the Gloucestershire County Planning Department; original drafts were prepared by N. M. Herbert, A. R. J. Jurřica, and Carolyn Heighway. Figure 21 was drawn by A. P. Baggs and Figure 24 by Patricia A. Tattersfield. Figures 2, 4, 8, and 16 are based on O.S. Maps 1/2,500 (1886 edn.) and Figures 25–6 on O.S. Maps 6" (1880s edn.).
