33. THE FRANCISCAN FRIARS OF ROMNEY
Henry III granted to the Friars Minors of Romney, 100s. out of the revenues of the archbishopric of Canterbury to buy clothes, on 5 December, 1241. (fn. 1) Friar Richard of Devon, one of the companions of Agnellus, after travelling through many provinces, lived here the last fifteen years of his life, worn out by quartan fevers. (fn. 2) The house existed only for a short time.
