JUDAISM.

The Potters Bar Jewish Community was founded in 1940. Its members worshipped in temporary premises until 1968, when a permanent synagogue, affiliated to the United Synagogue, was built at Brookmans Park. In 1971 fifty families were said to be connected with the synagogue. (fn. 1) The Potters Bar Jewish centre, in Tavistock Close, governed by a trust deed of 1966, (fn. 2) provides for the advancement of the Jewish religion, the education of Jewish children, and the relief of poor and aged Jews.
