Robert de Wyleby, knight, acknowledges that he owes to William de Byfeld, clerk, 100s.; to be levied etc. in the county of Northampton.
Dec. 8.
Westminster.
Robert Fourneux, citizen and fishmonger of London, and John Fourneux of Bromlegh acknowledge that they owe to Thomas de Hethe, clerk, 100l.; to be levied etc. in Kent.
Cancelled on payment.

William de Assh, the elder, acknowledges that he owes to Robert de Assh 20l.; to be levied etc. in the city of London.

To the prior and convent of Dunstaple. Request to grant to John son of Walter Whithors, the king's clerk, such pension as they are bound to render to one of the king's clerks by reason of the new creation of the prior, to be received yearly until they provide him with a suitable benefice.

Edward de Treburk puts in his place Nicholas de Wandelesworth, citizen of London, to receive from the prior of Sporle, co. Norfolk, those 10l. which the king granted to him to receive for life of the ferm of that priory.

Summons to attend a parliament to be held at Westminster on Friday the feast of St. Hilary next, warning the prior and chapter of Christ Church, Canterbury, the archdeacons and all the clergy of his diocese to attend the said parliament, the prior and archdeacons in person and the chapter and clergy by their proctors.

The writ to the abbot of Leicester is vacated because he has the king's charter that he is not compelled to come to parliament. [Ibid.]
To Edward, prince of Wales, duke of Cornwall and earl of Chester. Summons to attend the said parliament. [Ibid.]
The like to Henry duke of Lancaster, John earl of Kent and ten other earls and to fifty-two others. [Ibid.]

To Bartholomew de Burgherssh, constable of Dover castle and warden of the Cinque Ports, or to him who supplies his place. Order to cause two barons to be chosen from each of those ports to attend the said parliament. [Ibid.]
To the sheriff of Kent. Order to cause two knights for that shire, two citizens from each city and two burgesses from each borough in the shire, to be elected to attend the said parliament. [Ibid.]

Memorandum that Robert de Holm, clerk, on 18 December, appeared in chancery and said that while he was staying at Avignon he heard that the king had written to him and the other English clerks staying there, enjoining them to return immediately to England to answer certain charges to be laid against them, and although no such letters were delivered to him, yet he immediately returned to England and offered to answer the things laid against him, and he has found in chancery Robert Serle of Wilts and John de Swynleye, parson of Langeton church, diocese of Lincoln, who have mainperned to have him before the council whenever it shall please the king.
Memorandum that Nicholas de Hethe, clerk, on 21 November, appearing in chancery, freely confessed and swore that he would never sue in the Roman court or elsewhere against Henry de Ingelby, who obtains the prebend of Cave in the church of St. Peter, York, John de Edyngton, who obtains the prebend of Faryngdon in the church of Salisbury, William de Kelleseye, who obtains a portion of Overhalle in the church of Leddebury, or Richard de Derby, who obtains the church of Hodynet, of the king's collation and presentation, by reason of any provisions made to Nicholas of those benefices by the apostolic see, and that he will not molest them or attempt anything to the prejudice of the king or his crown, or contrary to the judgments rendered in the king's courts thereupon, and for the greater security of the premises Nicholas delivered his faith to the hand of John bishop of Worcester, then the chancellor.

To the sheriffs of London. Order to cause proclamation to be made that no merchant or other person shall take corn out of the port of that city to parts beyond, upon pain of the forfeiture thereof and of the vessels in which it is laded, and to arrest all those found taking corn without a licence, after the proclamation, with the ships and corn as forfeit to the king, and keep them safely until further order, certifying the king in chancery from time to time of the names of those so arrested, the number of quarters of corn and to whom the ships belonged, as there is a great scarcity of corn in the realm by this year's bad crop and by its exportation from England to parts beyond.
